Dr. Clifton Ling

Dr. Clifton Ling is a renowned expert in the fields of medical physics and radiation oncology. Over a 30-year career in radiation biophysics and medical physics, he was on the faculty of Harvard / Massachusetts General Hospital, Professor and Director of Physics at George Washington University, Professor and Vice Chair of Radiation Oncology at UCSF, and from 1989 to 2007 served as Enid Haupt Professor and Chairman of Medical Physics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Ling conducted research and authored or co-authored numerous seminal papers about advances in radiation therapy for cancer. He currently serves as Varian’s director of advanced clinical research.
