Canon launches a range of Digital Radiography solutions and software at ECR 2013

Canon Europe, a world-leader in imaging solutions, will launch nine DelftDI digital radiography (DR) modalities, four new Canon flat panel DR detectors and several healthcare IT solutions at the European Congress of Radiology in Vienna (7-11 March 2013), Europe’s foremost radiology event. These additions to Canon’s existing range will provide medical institutions with a range of solutions to meet their specific patient care needs and reduce consultation times.
DelftDI, now a Canon Group company, will launch a range of new DR modalities, designed to allow radiographers to create bespoke solutions that can be adapted to examine all patients, while delivering high quality imaging under all circumstances. Highlights of the showcase at ECR are: Adora RF and D2RS hybrid solutions for fluoroscopy and radiography, as well as Xsense DR for ultimate freedom in static imaging and a variety of mobile, field and paediatric applications.
The four new flat panel detectors CXDI-701 and CXDI-801 Wireless series expand the existing range. With a reduced image preview time of only one second for higher throughput and the auto detection feature, they will increase the flexibility for easy retrofit and system integration. All the new DR devices  are equipped with Canon’s CXDI Control Software NE, enabling medical staff to reduce patient examination times by decreasing the number of steps needed to capture an X-ray.
At ECR, Canon will showcase an extensive range of software solutions, which allow medical professionals to quickly access and manage hospital images in a secure and efficient way. Canon’s Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS) ensure optimal workflow and high patient throughput. With the advanced Cross Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS-i) solution healthcare institutions can exchange documents and information more easily.
Yoshiyuki Masuko, Senior Director, Medical Imaging Group, Canon Europe, commented, “At Canon, we’re dedicated to providing the right combination of diagnostic imaging technology for any circumstances. Helping medical staff treat patients effectively is at the heart of everything we do, and working with DelftDI, we’re pleased to be able to offer our customers an unparalleled range of new digital radiography and healthcare IT solutions.”

ECR 2013 will take place in Vienna, 7 – 11 March 2013. Canon will be located at Booth 104/Expo A.
