MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND sells out with record 30% increase in exhibitor participation

Increased demand in exhibition space reflects robust market interest and growing presence in Southeast Asia 
The 6th edition of MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND reaffirms its leadership position as Thailand’s benchmark event for Southeast Asia’s medical and health care industry as it welcomes 400 international exhibitorsfrom some 20 countries together with a stellar line-up of events. With a 30% increase in exhibiting space, the biennial trade fair is already fully sold out two months ahead of its staging atthe Queen Sirikit Convention Centre from 12 to 14 September 2013 in Bangkok.

Over the years, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND has seen significant growth and participation from the international arena, particularly from Europe and North Asia. We are delighted with the considerable expansion of the trade fair,whichstrongly reflects the robust market interest in medical and health care in the growing markets of Thailand and Southeast Asia,” said Mr. Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia.

On top of the greater depth in its medical content on display this year, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 will also cover more and see new country participation; France, will be coming in as a country pavilion for the very first time.
Representingthe French Pavilion will be seven companiesspecialising in healthcare technology and services. A joint collaboration between the Trade Commission of the French Embassy in Thailand, the Thai Medical Device Technology Industry Association and ASEAN Federation of Medical Device Industry, these French companies will introduce their latest productsand innovations as they discuss business opportunities with their Thai counterparts and look to expand theirmarkets intoThailand. 
MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 has also attracted a record number of national pavilions and country groups from Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany,Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
Comprehensive product offeringsand new technology 
Taking centrestage at MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 will be equipment for a wide variety of uses ranging from accident and emergency to laboratory rehabilitation, supplies for ophthalmic, pharmaceutical and orthopaedic use, as all well as communications and information technology equipment geared for the sector. Trade visitors can expect to see more medical suppliers from Europe, specifically Germany and Belgium, as well as Asian neighbours South Korea and Taiwan as they eye the attractive opportunities in the Thai market.
MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 comes on the back of the Thai government’s goal of transitioning Thailand’s economy from labour intensive to knowledge-based, where emphasis will be placed on high-tech and high-value industries. The medical devices and equipment sector, has been among those earmarked as one of the top ten focus industries by Thailand’s Board of Investment. 
Reflected strongly on the show floor are cost-effective and high-performance solutions, from an impressive list of exhibitors that extend from manufacturers to suppliers, processors and technology manufacturers, particularly from the medical device and medical technology sector, from all-in-one designed endoscope systems, vestibular diagnostic systems, to electro-surgical cutting and coagulation devices.

Making its Thai debut at MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013, BCR-Therapie will for the first time introduce its new micro-current based pain management technology developed and patented in Germany. The technology is an effort to produce a replica energy that closely resembles the body’s own energy, which is then applied to the pain affected area. Natural, non-invasive and pain-free, trade visitors can experience first-hand this automated acupuncture, termed as ‘German acupuncture without needles’ at the exhibition.

From the world of ophthalmology comes Belgian company PhysIOL, world-leading manufacturer of intraocular lenses and implants for cataract surgery, who will introduce their latest innovations: FineVision, the first trifocal diffractive IOL which significantly improves vision at all distances; Ankoris, a toric IOL with optimal rotational stability, and PodEye, a 100% glistening-free hydrophobic IOL.
Origin Scientia Pte Ltd
Singapore based life sciences company specialising in insect-based innovations and R&D, Origin Scientia will showcase its flagship product MediFly – sterile medical grade maggots for Maggot Debridement Therapy. The company uses modern science to harness and define beneficial elements and applications throughout the natural world regarding better wound care standards and practices.
Viroblock S.A.
Swiss healthcare company Viroblock has developed a proprietary novel antiviral technology that is both broad spectrum and rapidly acting for its anti-viral mask.This revolutionary new respiratory mask traps and kills more than 99.9% of H1N1 virus on pass through the air. Viroblock is currently extending the aerobiology testing to include other viruses. The company is also now bringing this technology to the market in a range of air filtration products.
Anatolia Geneworks
Exhibiting for the first-timeat MFT is Anatolia Geneworks, a biotechnology market focused on designing, developing and manufacturing real-time PCR kits, nucleic acid extraction kids and automated acid extraction instruments. This young Turkish enterprise is one of the few companies in the world with the ability to create turnkey solutions for real-time PCR applications.
Strong Synergistic Activities in Rehabilitation Medicine and Hospital Management
Top quality will be presented not only by the exhibition section, but also by the concurrent events held alongside MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013. Over three-days, exhibitors, delegates and visitors will benefit from concurrent events which include two conferences connecting hospital management best practices and advanced rehabilitation technology.
Advanced Rehabilitation Technology Conference (ARTeC) 2013
ARTeC 2013 will be held from 12 to 13 September 2013, and is jointly organized by the Royal College of Physiatrists of Thailand, Thai Rehabilitation Medicine Association and Messe Düsseldorf Asia. 
The two-day conference anticipates some 200 delegates, and will feature keynote speaker Professor Marta Imamura, The President of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM), and distinguished speakers from Germany, Taiwan and Thailand. Targeted at resident trainees, junior and experienced physiatrists as well as allied professionals involved in the field of medical rehabilitation, ARTec 2013 includes a series of lectures and workshops on advanced technology and emerging trends in modern rehabilitation medicine such as segmental neuromyotherapy, musculoskeletal ultrasound, advanced management in swallowing difficulty after stroke, and robotics and brain stimulation technology in neurological rehabilitation.
Hospital Management Asia (HMA) 2013
From 12 to 13 September, HMA 2013 presents “how to” tools and thought-leading topics for senior executives, through a combination of plenary sessions, workshops and demonstrations on the latest hospital management best practices. Some 1000 delegates are expected at the conference as they learn and network with world-class practitioners and experts to share their insights, skills and practical tips.
