University Hospitals (UH), in Cleveland, Ohio expanded and extended its commitment to Allscripts through 2024 to enhance patient care and improve population health management.
UH is one of the United States’ leading academic healthcare systems, providing the largest network of primary care physicians, outpatient centers and hospitals across Northeast Ohio. The organization will expand its Allscripts SunriseTM Clinical Manager platform in 9 hospitals that currently use the platform to include additional Sunrise modules, including surgery, anesthesia, radiology and mobility, providing a single clinical platform and integrated workflows for all stages of acute patient care. Additionally, UH will install the Sunrise clinical platform in 5 hospitals it has newly acquired over recent years.
Further, UH will increase its use of the Allscripts dbMotionTM interoperability and data aggregation solution, powering connectivity across the Northeast Ohio healthcare community. Because dbMotion harmonizes information from disparate clinical systems and brings actionable data to the point of care, UH will be positioned to more effectively coordinate care across settings.
“The continued collaboration between Allscripts and University Hospitals to achieve an integrated Sunrise platform will help improve clinical outcomes for our patients,” Jeffrey Sunshine, M.D. Ph.D., Chief Medical Information Officer, University Hospitals. “Having a robust, single patient record across the continuum of our acute care will provide our physicians with the information they need to make crucial decisions regarding patient care.”
Sunrise is an integrated suite of solutions for emergency, acute, ambulatory, revenue cycle and patient administration. Used by many of the leading hospitals and health systems in the world, Sunrise is a highly configurable solution that offers clinician-specific workflows that help drive adoption of clinical decision support that can lead to improved outcomes.
The dbMotion Solution is an industry-leading connectivity platform, and a critical component of Allscripts CareInMotion™ population health management platform. CareInMotion is a comprehensive, adaptable framework that enables healthcare organizations to address their specific population health priorities, such as care coordination, transitions of care and patient engagement.
“University Hospitals is taking a holistic approach to managing the care of its patients,” said Chief Executive Officer, Paul Black. “By using a comprehensive and unified platform to manage care across all stages, the organization will deliver greater outcomes to its populations.”
