Asia’s Healthcare Sector to Grow by 5-10 % in 2009, Outperforming the General Economy

The total healthcare market revenue in the Asia Pacific region was US$239.9 billion in 2008, and the industry is expected to grow by 5-10% this year*. Additionally, select growth opportunities exist in the region despite challenges like reduced access to capital and higher interest costs. The Hospital Build Asia Exhibition and Congress 2009 will help hospital administrators and healthcare decision makers identify growth areas, plan and deliver profitable growth even during tough times through insight and strategies presented by global industry thought leaders at the event.

“The healthcare sector in the Asia Pacific region is expected to perform better than developed countries like the US,” said Mr. Andrew Keable, Divisional Director, Life Sciences Division, IIR Asia Pacific. “There are opportunities that companies in Asia can tap into, as well as ways in which they optimize their investments in current and future hospital projects. But healthcare planners, administrators, and decision makers will need industry trends and expert advice to chart their way forward, and Hospital Build Asia Exhibition and Congress 2009 is an excellent platform for them to get all the information they need.” IIR Asia Pacific is the organiser of Hospital Build Asia Exhibition and Congress 2009, which showcases expertise, products, and services to aid the expansion and enhancement of healthcare facilities.
