Philips Healthcare has launched a full field digital mammography system at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR), the latest addition to its range of established mammography systems. The Philips MammoDiagnost DR incorporates the renowned strengths and sophisticated ergonomic design of the Philips range of digital radiography systems, combining excellent image quality and reliability with efficiencies in clinical use.

Stephanie Holden, X-ray Business Leader, Philips Healthcare, explains the importance of the system's launch: The introduction of the MammoDiagnost DR to the Philips Mammography portfolio is an exciting step forward for Philips Healthcare and fully enforces our commitment to investing in Women's Health.

The MammoDiagnost DR provides excellent image quality at a low dose, using Philips' image quality enhancement software, UNIQUE. Images can be viewed immediately, and as the image is right first time manual adjustments are not necessary. The large detector size and automatic exposure control ensure that all images are complete and usable.

Patient comfort is a key feature of the MammoDiagnost DR. Excellent patient accessibility and flexible positioning with the isocentric rotation of the C-arm through 180 degrees help to maximise the patient's comfort.  The MammoDiagnost DR can be upgraded to include Stereotactic facilities to complete the breast diagnostic cycle.

With the introduction of the MammoDiagnost DR, Philips' family of mammography systems offers a solution for every application. The Philips MammoDiagnost DR is fully DICOM compliant, for integration with other digital systems.
