Siemens Healthcare and Vertec Scientific formed a distribution partnership, which will see Vertec exclusively market the X Class range of ultrasound systems in the markets of emergency medicine, GP practices, rheumatology, orthopaedics, acute medicine, chest medicine and anaesthetics. The agreement, which is effective immediately, will see Vertec sell the systems and Siemens Healthcare's engineers maintain the technology.

"Vertec is an established and trusted leader in the medical industry and is therefore well placed to develop our position as a specialist in innovative ultrasound solutions," said Declan Dunphy, Ultrasound Product Manager at Siemens Healthcare. "We welcome Vertec's expertise and look forward to working closely together to extend our reach in unexplored and emerging markets."

"Vertec is used to working in niche markets, so we are delighted to work with Siemens Healthcare, extending its ultrasound product offerings in these growing areas," said Bill Hipgrave, Managing Director at Vertec Scientific. "The engineering quality of the products is beyond question and with a strong service group we can be sure that customers will be well supported."
