Fourteen pro-basketball legends and NFL players wielded their star power to raise $26,000 for construction of a DreamCourt™ at the Holthouse Boys & Girls Club. Members of the Houston Texans and retired players from the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Harlem Globetrotters signed autographs during a fundraiser at the Dr. Gleem Car Wash on Friday, May 22, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Houston residents were invited to come out to the car wash at 5803 Bellaire Blvd. to mingle with sports celebrities, enjoy a deluxe car wash and give to this worthy cause. DreamCourts are state-of-the-art basketball facilities built in lower-income communities through a collaboration among WorldVentures Foundation™, Nancy Lieberman Foundation and Sport Court®.

"This was truly a star-studded occasion and I'm so honored to have had the Houston Texans and my former basketball counterparts join us in raising funds so local children can have a new DreamCourt to call their own," said Nancy Lieberman, Basketball Hall-of-Famer, coach and executive director of the Nancy Lieberman Foundation.

The hoops-star lineup included former Houston Rockets Rodney McCray, Moses Malone, Marcus Camby, Mike James, Robert Reid, and ex-Rockets Coach John Egan. Former Harlem Globetrotters Howard Smith, Reggie Dixon and Sweet Lou Dunbar joined them, along with former Philadelphia 76er, Harvey Catchings, and Ollie Taylor, who played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Representing the Houston Texans were Jonathan Grimes, Andre Hal and former player, Chester Pitts. Clutch, the Houston Rockets mascot, arrived at 1 p.m. and some of the Rocket Power Dancers made an appearance.

"On the heels of the Muhammad and Lonnie Ali DreamCourt opening in Phoenix on May 6, it is humbling to have even more celebrity support in serving children who need us," said Gwyneth Lloyd, executive director of WorldVentures Foundation. "Our volunteers coordinated this event in collaboration with Dr. Gleem owner, Kevin Jenkins, his daughter, Shelby, and their wonderful management staff. It was a team effort and we are thankful to everyone involved."

WorldVentures Foundation is a dedicated, national affiliate of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and leads service excursions to clubs nationwide, where volunteers assist with renovation projects. Of 17 DreamCourts built to date, nine are located at Boys & Girls Clubs in Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Illinois, and Arizona. The multi-hoop DreamCourt slated for the Holthouse Club will feature Sport Court's Power Game™ high-performance safety surface and bright blue and orange accents.
