Labcorp and OmniSeq Launch Insight, Next-Generation Sequencing Platform to Advance Precision Oncology

Labcorp, a leading global life sciences company, and OmniSeq, a CAP-accredited, molecular diagnostic innovation of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, announced the launch of OmniSeq INSIGHTsm, a comprehensive genomic and immune profiling, tissue-based test that integrates next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology. The test is designed to advance precision oncology and improve patient outcomes, as part of Labcorpโ€™s commitment to empower better health decisions for patients through the addition of cutting-edge diagnostic tools in precision medicine.

โ€œThere continue to be significant advancements in the oncology space, including the identification of new biomarkers and therapies at an unprecedented pace,โ€ said Prasanth Reddy, M.D., MPH, senior vice president and oncology head at Labcorp and a triple board-certified oncologist. โ€œThis new test provides up-to-date, evidence-based treatment recommendations and incorporates current guidelines into a report that is easy to interpret, allowing clinicians to make the best treatment choices for their patients, including potential clinical trials.โ€

OmniSeq INSIGHT is a pan-cancer, solid tumor test that combines two different treatment paradigmsโ€” genomic and immune profiling, including tumor mutational burden, microsatellite instability, and immune gene expression, which enhances the characterization of the unique genomic biomarkers in a patientโ€™s tumor. The results from the test are presented in an easy-to-read report, summarizing all FDA-approved therapies and immunotherapies that match the patientโ€™s tumor profile. This enables clinicians to provide the most up-to-date treatments for their patients, in addition to identifying clinical trials for which patients may be eligible within 200 miles of their homes. The report provides evidence-based recommendations specific to the individual test results through the use of a proprietary database sourced from numerous biologic and scientific literature, including National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelinesยฎ, giving clinicians access to the most advanced treatment options.

OmniSeq INSIGHT is available to U.S.-based clinicians exclusively through Labcorp, and across Canada through Dynacare, a Labcorp company. The test is also available to global biopharmaceutical companies exclusively through Labcorp Drug Development. This can help reduce development time and costs while maximizing patient stratification by accelerating biomarker selection in preclinical and clinical development, and in targeted therapeutic and companion diagnostic development.

Labcorp Drug Development has a proven track record of providing a range of solutions and can offer the scalability required, backed by global expertise, regulatory guidance and informatics systems that are tailored to the biopharmaceutical partnerโ€™s unique development needs.

โ€œWe are excited to advance our partnership with Labcorp, continuing to provide increased access to oncology care for patients leveraging Labcorpโ€™s extensive footprint and oncology experience,โ€ said Margot Schoenborn, CEO of OmniSeq. โ€œWe are making this test available globally to biopharmaceutical customers for incorporation into their clinical trials for biomarker stratification, and to support new precision medicine oncology approaches to drug and companion diagnostic development.โ€

Hartford HealthCare Selects Upfront as its Partner in Transforming the Patient Experience

Hartford HealthCare (HHC) will leverage Upfront Healthcareโ€™s patient engagement and communication platform to further their goal of transforming the digital patient experience enterprise-wide, building on the success with Upfront for COVID-19 vaccine coordination.ย

Upfront delivers dynamic, digital care navigation to improve patient experience, increase necessary visits, reduce no-shows and improve population health performance. Its flexible omnichannel communication capabilities, combined with personalized patient content and calls-to-action, eliminate common barriers to patient engagement and enable Upfront to support a nearly unlimited number of use cases and deliver a world-class patient experience, while driving a significant return on investment for the health system.

Hartford HealthCare is Connecticutโ€™s only truly integrated healthcare system. With 33,000 colleagues and a medical staff of 4,000 providers, the system offers the full continuum of care with seven acute-care hospitals, the stateโ€™s longest-running air-ambulance service, behavioral health and rehabilitation services, a physician group and clinical integration organization, skilled-nursing and home health services, and a comprehensive range of services for seniors, including senior-living facilities and CarePartners of Connecticut, the systemโ€™s Medicare Advantage plan. All told, HHC serves more than 185 towns in Connecticut and beyond.

โ€œThe opportunity in partnering with a unique organization like Upfront is not just to catch up to the changing environment, but to leapfrog it and lead the provider segment in addressing the increasing consumerization of healthcare,โ€ said Dr. Barry Stein, Vice President and Chief Clinical Innovation Officer at HHC. โ€œWe have to meet patients where they are and provide as smooth a journey as possible, digitally guiding them to the services that they need. In this sense, Upfront will play a critical role in helping us reinvent the patient experience.โ€

Digital communication delivered via personalized landing pages (microsites) embedded in text or email messages, as well as by IVR, will support critical patient initiatives and several key organizational objectives, including:

  • Motivate patients to return for vital preventive care, such as annual wellness visits, mammograms and colonoscopies
  • Improve medication adherence to promote the health of patients with chronic disease
  • Enhance access to care for the underserved and those too often left outside the healthcare system
  • Improve visit adherence and enable real-time rescheduling of visits as needed to drive down cancellations and late no shows
  • Enable real-time education about the purpose for and scheduling of referrals to avert patient confusion or apathy and eliminate ineffective, expensive outbound calls
  • Enroll patients in applicable programs with significant benefits, such as care coordination or suicide prevention programs
  • Achieve the organizationโ€™s strategic objectives by ensuring equitable communication and recall for patients to complete necessary care, maximize quality measure performance for CarePartners and impact Star Ratings

Success in achieving these objectives will be driven by HHC incorporating several Upfront solution sets including Necessary Care Completion, with a focus on care gaps, annual wellness visits and medication adherence, Visit Adherence with Embedded Rescheduling, to launch visit confirmations, visit reminders and post-visit surveys, and Enrollment and Optimization to drive awareness and participation in HHCโ€™s Medicare Advantage plan, as well as their care coordination and transitions of care programs.

Collectively, these solution sets will transform patient experience through digital communication and frictionless self-scheduling, further differentiating HHC from local and regional competitors, helping HHC attract and retain patients and driving greater adoption of HHCโ€™s legacy digital investments.

Driving COVID-19 vaccine program success

The relationship between the organizations kicked off both urgently and efficiently in February, when HHC partnered with Upfront to educate consumers about vaccines and ultimately ease the vaccination process for them. During the programโ€™s first 60 days, 1.4 million patients, many of whom reside in hardship ZIP codes prioritized by Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, received customized microsites. These sites contained educational content regarding vaccination and one-click scheduling information, visit reminders, missing second doses and post-vaccination symptoms. With 41 percent of patients engaged with the personalized microsites, scheduling at least their first dose, the campaign achieved an engagement rate roughly four times the industry benchmark. Overall, HHC contacted 39 percent of Connecticutโ€™s total population with Upfront and vaccinated 16.3 percent, significantly contributing to the stateโ€™s top five ranking in percentage of population vaccinated.

In addition to high-risk individuals, HHC and Upfront built on the connection established with fully vaccinated patients, guiding them through on-going communications to resume necessary preventive care, such as cancer screenings and wellness visits.

Through partnership with Upfront, HHC achieved more equitable vaccine communication and distribution, a doubling of enrollment in HHCโ€™s MyChartPLUS patient portal and a 200 percent increase in usage of ClearStep, an online symptom checker.

โ€œUpfront has not been a vendor to us, but a true partner,โ€ said Debra Hayes, VP and Chief Operating Officer of HHCโ€™s clinical integration organization, Integrated Care Partners. โ€œUpfront understands us?our goals, our system and our challenges?and the results we have seen to date have made a significant impact on the health and well-being of our community.โ€

โ€œHartford HealthCareโ€™s vision for patient experience holds tremendous promise for the people of Connecticut,โ€ said Carrie Kozlowski, Upfrontโ€™s COO and co-founder. โ€œWe are grateful for the opportunity to continue collaborating with such a transformative group of leaders whose hard work and singular focus continues to deliver outstanding results at a speed and scale unheard of in this industry.โ€

Cardinal Health Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions Receives U.S. FDA Approval for New LYMPHOSEEK Pediatric Indication

industry_reports - 10632-cardinal-hospital.jpg

Cardinal Health announced that LYMPHOSEEKยฎ (technetium Tc 99m tilmanocept) injection โ€“ the first and only radiopharmaceutical agent specifically designed for targeted lymphatic mapping and guiding sentinel lymph node biopsies (SLNB) โ€“ has been approved for pediatric use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

“This new indication opens the door for physicians, oncologists and nuclear medicine specialists to more accurately stage the spread of disease using lymphatic mapping in pediatric cancer patients,” said Tiffany Olson, President of Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions at Cardinal Health. “Ultimately, this may help more families to be able to get answers to some of their most concerning questions.”

In addition to adult use, this new indication will provide accurate and precise lymph node identification in pediatric patients with melanoma, rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) or other types of solid tumors. This will offer physicians, oncologists and nuclear medicine specialists an efficient, accurate and safe option to enhance lymphatic mapping and SLNB in pediatric melanoma cases, the most common skin cancer in children, which results in around 500 new cases per year [1].

Approximately the same number of pediatric cases of RMS, a rare type of cancer that forms in soft tissues, such as eyes, occurs each year in the United States. RMS is most often diagnosed in children and teens, with more than half of diagnoses in children younger than 10 years old [2].

LYMPHOSEEKยฎ is a radioactive diagnostic agent. A clinical study to evaluate LYMPHOSEEKยฎ in pediatric patients has shown that the radiopharmaceutical is safe and effective for patients one month and older. Less than one percent of patients reported injection site irritation and/or pain in clinical trials, with no serious adverse reactions to the drug being reported.

7 Things to Know About Concussions

How Traumatic Brain Injuries Can Affect Other Organs

Head injuries are relatively common and can range from mild to severe. Whether itโ€™s from a sports injury, a fall, or a car accident, concussions and head injuries do usually require medical attention right away to ensure thereโ€™s not more damage than what can initially be seen.

With that in mind, the following are seven key things to know about concussions and head injuries.

1.) There Are Three Types of Head Injury Based On Where They Occur

The majority of brain injuries occur because of an outside force coming in contact with the head. The impact and the injuries that result from that force can be classified as one of three types.

Thereโ€™s coup, contrecoup, and coup-contrecoup.

These are all non-penetrating injuries.

Coup injuries occur on the brain right below the area where the impact occurred. Trauma can be mild, moderate or severe, and may include bruising and swelling as well as potential brain hemorrhage.

Contrecoup affects the side of the brain on the opposite side from where the impact was located.

Coup-contrecoup injuries tend to be most severe and impact both sides of the brain.

2.) Observed and Reported Signs Are Often Different

Especially in children in teens, but really in people of any age, the observed signs of a concussion can be different from the reported signs.

The signs you may observe include appearing dazed or stunned, seeming confused or forgetful and clumsy movements. You might also notice the person is slow to answer questions or shows changes in mood or behavior.

The symptoms that someone with a concussion might report, on the other hand, can include nausea, headache and a feeling of pressure in the head. Symptoms reported can also include double vision, dizziness, being bothered by noise or light, feeling sluggish or groggy, confusion or feeling down or just โ€œoffโ€ in some way.

3.) You Should Watch for Danger Signs

There are some danger signs to be aware of if someone has suffered a blow to the head.

Danger signs to be mindful of include:

  • One pupil appears larger than the other
  • Drowsiness
  • Inability to wake up
  • A worsening headache that doesnโ€™t go away
  • Slurred speech
  • Decreased coordination
  • Convulsions
  • Seizures
  • Unusual behavior
  • Restlessness
  • Agitation
  • Loss of consciousness (even for a brief period)

4.) There Are Certain Risk Factors For Concussions

While anyone can get a concussion, there are certain risk factors that can up the chances including:

  • Falling, especially in older adults and young children
  • Participating in contact sports like boxing, football, soccer, or hockey
  • Participating in sports without the proper safety equipment
  • Being in a car accident
  • Being in a pedestrian accident
  • Involvement in a bike accident
  • Being a soldier in combat
  • Being a physical abuse victim
  • Having had a concussion in the past

5.) Complications Are Possible with Concussions

Itโ€™s critical to be mindful of the possibility of complications after someone suffers a concussion. Complications of a concussion can include:

  • Vertigo for days, weeks, or even months after a brain injury
  • Post-concussion symptoms which can last longer than three months
  • Second impact syndrome can occur, which is rare, but it means that someone experienced a second concussion before the resolution of the first concussion. This can lead to fatal swelling of the brain and the risk highlights why itโ€™s important for athletes to be fully healed before they play sports again after a concussion.

6.) A Concussion Doesnโ€™t Have to Be Caused by a Direct Blow

We often think about concussions being caused by direct blows to the head, and they can be, but they donโ€™t have to be.

The brain is cushioned by cerebrospinal fluid inside a personโ€™s skull.

A blow to not just the head but also the neck or upper body can cause the brain to move back and forth with force against the walls of the skull.

Any sudden acceleration or deceleration of the brain can cause a brain injury.

7.) There Are Ways to Reduce the Risk of a Concussion

Some of the general steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of concussions include:

  • Always wearing the appropriate safety and protective gear when participating in sports or recreational activities. The equipment should be in condition and fit properly.
  • Using your seatbelt can reduce the risk of a head injury if youโ€™re in an accident.
  • Keep your home free of fall hazards, especially if youโ€™re older.
  • When you exercise regularly, it can help you improve your balance and strengthen your leg muscles.

Finally, parents, coaches, and everyone should take the time to learn about concussions and how they can be prevented.

4 Things Your Health Insurance Doesn’t Usually Cover

Most Americans either get healthcare through their jobs, or they buy it themselves through the marketplace. It’s going to stay that way for the time being since many high-powered entities resist universal healthcare. As long as healthcare remains privatized, companies that provide it can keep making money.

Everyone needs healthcare, and if you have it, youโ€™ll feel a lot better about moving through your lifeโ€™s various phases. Even if you feel pretty healthy now, you never know when you might get sick or when an accident might occur that injures you. At that time, your healthcare will go to work, paying for all or some of the resulting costs.

However, even if you have excellent healthcare, there are some things that it rarely covers. You should be aware of whatโ€™s on that list. That way, it wonโ€™t surprise you if you try to get one of these procedures or products and you have to pay for all of it out of pocket.

Letโ€™s run through some of the most common things your health insurance wonโ€™t cover.

Dietary Supplements

There are various dietary supplements you can buy, and many people take them. You have to be careful which ones you choose, though. FDA data during a 9-year period shows that 51% of Class 1 recalls were dietary supplements.

A Class 1 recall is basically the most serious kind. When that happens, it usually means the product is not safe, or the FDA found that it contains ingredients that the label doesnโ€™t mention.

Even though so many people take dietary supplements, you should know that your health insurance seldom covers them. Your health insurance provider will almost always say youโ€™re taking the supplement voluntarily, but your health or life does not depend on your doing so.

Because of this, you should carefully consider which supplements you want to purchase. If your doctor tells you that you should take fish oil, for instance, youโ€™ll need to look at how much it costs and whether you feel that itโ€™s worth it to pay for it. If you do not have a lot of disposable income, you may want to refrain from purchasing such supplements.

Cosmetic or Elective Procedures

There are also all kinds of either cosmetic or elective procedures that you can get. A cosmetic procedure might be a nose job if you donโ€™t like your noseโ€™s look or shape. Other ones might include breast augmentation surgery or getting a doctor to remove an unsightly mole.

Elective procedures include things like vasectomies. Itโ€™s an essential medical procedure, but your life or health does depend on you getting one. A doctor removing a kidney stone might be another example.

If you canโ€™t establish that your life or health are at risk if you donโ€™t get either a cosmetic or elective procedure, you can argue withย your health insurance companyย about it, but youโ€™re almost always going to have to come up with the money on your own.

Brand-New Technologies

Brand-new technologies are something else that a healthcare company is not going to want to pay for, which can frustrate people in some circumstances. For instance, maybe you have a torn muscle, and getting stem cell treatments is one option. There are other possibilities on the table for how you might deal with it, though, such as surgery or a physical therapy program.

Unless a type of procedure becomes more mainstream and the medical community wholeheartedly accepts it, the health insurance company will probably not back down. Once a procedure has been around for several years, and virtually all hospitals and doctors do it, thatโ€™s typically when you can get the healthcare provider to pay for it.

Off-Label Drugs

There are also different drugs on the market that are not FDA-approved. You often see late-night commercials advertising them. They might claim to do all kinds of things, like regrow your hair, cure erectile dysfunction, give you more energy, and so forth.

In almost all instances,ย your healthcare providerย will not shell out money for that sort of thing, either. Unless you can get a doctor to say that this medicine or treatment is legit and you need it to live, youโ€™ll have to pay for that kind of thing out of pocket as well.

If youโ€™re ever unsure about any medically-related expenditure, you can ask your healthcare provider about it. These are only four of the examples, though, of products or services they will make you pay for yourself.

Ways To Stay Young as You Age

Ways To Stay Young as You Age

Getting old is not fun, and many people dread the downfalls of aging, looking for ways to stay young and fit. There is nothing you can do to stop the clock, but you can maintain a good lifestyle that will reward you with fewer aches and pains as retirement age nears.

We also donโ€™t want to watch our parents struggle as the years settle in, and it can be difficult to watch someone you love become incapable of performing everyday tasks. Science tells us how important it is to keep your mind and body active to slow down the aging process, so read on to find out ways you can stay physically and mentally young for as long as possible.

Keep Your Muscles Active

Yes, exercise is important for everyday health, but your brain is also considered a muscle. The less you use it, the less you are able to use it. Studies have shown that when people learn and keep their minds active, the brain shows increased blood flow and improved neural functions.

Take up a hobby that keeps your hands and body moving like dancing or daily walks. You could challenge yourself to some crossword puzzles or try learning to paint. Some studies even suggest that staying sexually active in your older years is both beneficial for your body and mental wellbeing.

Maintain Social Communities

It is in our DNA to be sociable and research shows that loneliness can increase the chances of physical problems like high blood pressure or heart disease. This doesnโ€™t mean that you have to suddenly become an extrovert to stay young, but keeping in touch with family and close friends that make you happy is important.

It is especially good if you can join social groups like a book club or gardening group, and this becomes more critical the older you get. New Perspective knows social communities are critical for quality of life for seniors, which is why they focus on connecting people to a wide range of communities around the world.

Eat More Omega-3

Fish and fatty acids from Omega-3 have been proven to improve mental function and memory. Often being called โ€œbrain foodโ€, you should have no less than 200 โ€“ 250mg of this healthy oil per day. You can take it as a supplement or just eat more salmon, fatty fish, and nuts. This vital nutrient is not only good for mental health but has been shown to reduce aging by decreasing inflammation in the body.

There are many more ways that you can stay young as you age. From taking regular deserved breaks to destress to trying out new experiences, you donโ€™t have to let the fear of getting old keep you from feeling good. Remember though, as you age you are still prone to certain diseases and physical problems like balding or losing eyesight. So, be sure to keep up with your doctorโ€™s visits and take care of yourself above all else. You donโ€™t need fancy anti-wrinkle creams or expensive surgeries to feel your best.

Getinge’s New Torin Artificial Intelligence Solution Improves Hospital Efficiency

Getinge's New Torin Artificial Intelligence Solution Improves Hospital Efficiency

The introduction of the Torin Artificial Intelligence (AI) functionality is designed to improve efficiency in managing schedules for surgical procedures and comes in the wake of a new Getinge survey. Among the participating hospitals 41% report significant backlogs and only 44% have implemented new digital tools that can improve proficiency in OR scheduling and patient management.

Getinge, a leading global provider of products and solutions that contribute to quality enhancement and cost efficiency within healthcare and life sciences, now introduces Torin with AI in the United States. The company also announced results from a landmark survey of hospital executives and surgeons in the U.S. showing hospitals are taking steps to speed up OR turnover times, hire new staff and require staff to work longer hours to address backlogs.

โ€œFor almost 18 months during the COVID-19 pandemic, both surgeons and patients made decisions to defer many forms of surgery if possible. As more patients feel confident about considering surgery, demand to schedule procedures at all types of hospitals and surgery centers has exploded in recent months,โ€ says Eric Honroth, President, North America at Getinge. โ€œWhile hospitals can take steps to hire more people and have staff work longer hours to address this backlog, they must also look at the most effective technology options to improve scheduling efficiency and utilization of resources.โ€

Getingeโ€™s Torin software uses artificial intelligence technology that can quickly and seamlessly improve the speed and efficiency of scheduling surgical procedures. The Torin solution was launched in 2020 as a new resource to help with the planning, management and optimization of surgical procedures. Todayโ€™s introduction of a new suite of advanced functions for Torin, significantly expands capabilities in key areas including predicting surgery times, managing wait lists and data security. The system can produce highly accurate assessments of surgical procedure timing based on a range of variables including surgery type, patient data, relevant devices and staffing. To address scheduling backlogs, the software ranks pending procedures based on clinical and resource parameters, proposes optimized pre-schedules and integrates the process with existing scheduling functionalities.

โ€œThe new capabilities now available with Torin are specifically designed to help hospitals and surgery centers address many areas that are major challenges, including accurate assessments of surgery times, scheduling and wait list management, applications of mobile devices and data security requirements based on their specific pre-requisites,โ€œ says Charlotte Enlund, Vice President Integrated Workflow Solutions at Getinge. She adds, โ€œFor long term acute care facilities, which our study found to be extraordinarily challenged by surgical backlog, we are happy to offer support with Torin OptimalQ, our stand-alone tool, for quick relief in planning and optimizing the waiting list.โ€

Getinge Post-Pandemic Surgical Backlog Study

In May 2021, Getinge conducted a survey of 60 senior executives and surgeons from U.S. hospitals to assess the extent and impact of surgical backlogs that are developing as a result of the increase in patient demand as the U.S. emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the findings:

  • 41% of hospitals report that they are experiencing a surgical backlog, with higher levels of delays reported in long-term acute care (60%) and outpatient surgery (53%) settings.
  • While 56% of hospitals report that they plan to hire more staff and 52% say they plan to require staff to work more hours to address the backlog, fewer than half (44%) report that they are using advanced digital tools that have been widely shown to improve operating efficiencies and scheduling challenges in surgical settings, with the lowest rate found in acute care settings (27%).
  • Hospitals with the longest scheduling delays were also the least likely to use advanced digital technologies to improve operational efficiencies.

โ€œWith thousands of patients facing delays in surgeries because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to improve scheduling efficiencies has never been more essential,โ€ says Eric Honroth.ย  โ€œAdvances in AI technology can play a central role in a comprehensive plan to address these backlogs and can help to improve efficiency and lower costs for hospitals and surgery centers.โ€

iNitrile’s journey to redefine PPE safety in the U.S boosted by $33 million investment

iNitrile's journey to redefine PPE safety in the U.S boosted by $33 million investment

iNitrile, a leading provider of disposable glove dispensers to combat infections in organizations and a subsidiary of Texas Medical Technology, a leading medtech company, raises $33 million to further develop its automatic glove dispenser process. The funding was raised by Jad Shraim, who is currently serving as Co-founder and CFO of Texas Medical Manufacturing LLC. Shraim is expanding his current role to include iNitrile and will now also serve as the Co-Founder and CFO of the newly formed entity. The funds raised by Shraim fuel the teamโ€™s vision to build the biggest glove factory in the United States. Shraim will be joining the team headed by Dimitri Menin, President of Texas Medical Technology, and Omri Shaffran, Founder & CEO of Texas Medical Technology.

Jad Shraim has also worked as a Managing Director and a global market leader at Broadridge Financial Solutions, one of the largest financial technology solution firms globally. Heโ€™s an active entrepreneur who, alongside Omri, recognized the growing need for creating medical equipment at the outbreak of the pandemic. Jad saw an opportunity to provide preventative, life saving medical supplies that helped people on the front lines stay safe.

โ€œIโ€™m thrilled to be on-board, Omri and myself have shared the same vision since the pandemic started paralysing business,โ€ says Jad Shraim, Co-Founder and CFO of iNitrile.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) has played a key role in curtailing the spread of COVID-19, and our ability to leverage it institutionally on a broad scale will decide the fate of economies across the globe. Variants are still emerging and the pace of U.S. vaccination efforts are slowing, meaning the threat of COVID-19 will prove difficult to shake off quickly. Companies understandably prioritized taking action over quality assessment at the onset of the pandemic, but maintaining operations safely and retaining workplace confidence now requires a systematic rethink. The mindset needs to shift from businesses remissively requesting their employees bring PPE items to work, to standardizing a manageable, automated, and non-wasteful protocol which seamlessly normalizes PPE safety.

With its state-of-the-art disposable glove dispenser, Texas Medical Technologyโ€™s iNitrile improves the user experience of disposable gloves, while also minimizing waste and cost. Most importantly, it eliminates the risk of user contamination. The machine first verifies an authorized user through its check-in function, utilizing radio-frequency identification to scan a badge or tag. The machine then prompts the user to sanitize their hands via a built-in sanitization machine. A compartment then opens, allowing the user to insert his/her hand into an inflated glove. iNitrile devices are interconnected and upload information to a cloud-based network, allowing users to maintain a clear overview of operations, requirements, and usage statistics. The machine is suitable for both latex and nitrile non-powdered gloves.

An easily accessible and plentiful supply of disposable gloves improves facility sanitation, as well as prevents inadvertent infection from being transmitted within a workplace or venue. Additionally, the ongoing use of the device enables organizations to reduce overhead on protective equipment supply costs, reducing up to 40 percent in glove waste over the first year of operation. iNitrileโ€™s built-in, cloud-based, management software enables businesses to streamline stock management by managing the usage process and supply levels. The company recently disclosed that it is currently in the process of building a iNitrile factory in order to keep manufacturing up with growing demand.

โ€œWith the support of Texas Medicalโ€™s pedigree in PPE and our glove production starting imminently, Iโ€™m confident iNitrile will blaze a trail in the constantly-growing PPE sector,โ€ adds Shraim.
