Omnicell, Inc , a leading provider of medication management solutions and adherence tools for healthcare systems and pharmacies, announced that Charlotte, North Carolina-based Atrium Health will use Omnicell automation and intelligence solutions in pharmacy operations across their hospitals and infusion centers in the Charlotte Metro Region.
Atrium Health is the latest health system to join Omnicell as the company launches its vision of Autonomous Pharmacy, a roadmap to develop a zero error, fully automated medication management infrastructure. Leveraging automation, data intelligence, and expert services, the Autonomous Pharmacy will empower pharmacists, nurses, clinicians, and pharmacy staff to focus on patient and clinician satisfaction.
“We envision a care delivery model where manual tasks such as sorting, checking, reconciling or transporting medications can be automated, enabling the pharmacist to practice at the top of their license and make a greater impact on clinical care,” said Scott Seidelmann, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Omnicell.
Atrium Health will upgrade automated dispensing storage in the central pharmacy while streamlining workflows in patient care areas. The health system will also use Omnicell’s predictive intelligence platform and expert services to monitor pharmacy operations and recommend opportunities to help improve efficiency, regulatory compliance, and patient outcomes.
