Citing the timeliness of biosimilars in the next few years, Express Scripts Holding Company and Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) are expanding their group purchasing activities to include the procurement of specialty brand drugs.
ValoremRx Solutions, LLC will source the medicines, available to patients through ESRX’s specialty pharmacy Accredo and Walgreens’ specialty pharmacy.
Walgreens Boots Alliance Co-Chief Operating Officer Alex Gourlay says, “As prescription drug needs evolve and specialty medications are prescribed more often, we continue to look for new solutions that will help our patients get the medications they need at an affordable price.
