From 12 to 14 September 2012, Singapore will welcome two international trade exhibitions dedicated to the medical technology and healthcare sectors. The 9th edition of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA (MFA) and the inaugural edition of MEDICAL MANUFACTURING ASIA (MMA) come at a time when Singapore’s medical and health care performance has seen exciting developments with Singapore’s medtech sector tripling its manufacturing output to S$4.3 billion in 2011 compared to S$1.5 billion in 2000.
MEDICAL FAIR ASIA, organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, is currently the largest medical and health care trade exhibition in Singapore and Southeast Asia, and has been successfully held biennially since its inception in 1997. More than a decade on, the exhibition continues to attract an increasing number of visitors with this year’s exhibition expecting some 10,000 visitors from more than 30 countries. This year also features a 50% expansion in floor space as well as 11 national pavilions and country groups.
The inaugural edition of MEDICAL MANUFACTURING ASIA, jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and the Singapore Precision Engineering and Tooling Association (SPETA), in collaboration with International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and SPRING Singapore will present some 150 international suppliers, global technology players and buyers to Singapore, while also providing the ideal stage for local companies to showcase on an international platform as they highlight the capabilities of Singapore’s precision engineering sector supporting the medtech industry.
