Proven Diagnostics, a clinical diagnostic laboratory located in Bethlehem, Pa., announced that it has signed a contract with Highmark, the largest health insurer in Pennsylvania.

Proven Diagnostics will provide comprehensive laboratory services to Highmark members. The agreement covers both clinical and anatomic pathology. Proven Diagnostics also has agreements with most other health plans in the region.

"We are very pleased to begin serving Highmark’s members and providers," said Candice Miller, chief executive officer, Proven Diagnostics. "Highmark offers its providers a choice for their laboratory services, and we look forward to providing them with our high-quality laboratory testing and world-class services."

Launched last year by Geisinger Health System, Proven Diagnostics provides medical professionals throughout the state access to a full spectrum of clinical laboratory services. The laboratory was recently awarded a two-year accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Proven Diagnostics is one of about 200 institutions that are CAP-accredited in Pennsylvania.
