InfoLogix Selected by Gwinnett Medical Center to Transform Clinical Care Through Next-Generation Mobile Communications Solution
InfoLogix, Inc., a leading technology provider of enterprise mobility solutions for the healthcare and commercial industries, today announced the company has entered into an agreement with Gwinnett Medical Center (GMC), the not-for-profit healthcare network based in suburban Atlanta, to deploy a next-generation, handheld Care Team Communications system in the emergency department.
Gwinnett Medical Center engaged InfoLogix to conduct a wireless infrastructure assessment to determine the technical and workflow requirements necessary for optimal communications. Based on its findings, InfoLogix developed a comprehensive, mobile deployment strategy customized for Gwinnett Medical Center and its busy emergency department. The entire assessment and implementation was completed within 45 days.
"InfoLogix was instrumental in helping us identify and select a clinical communication technology that will provide a higher level of patient care," says Andrea Wehrmann, spokeswoman for Gwinnett Medical Center. "Our new Care Team Communications system will provide our front-line caregivers immediate access to mission-critical information as well as other personnel, saving valuable time and enabling better clinical care."
As part of the implementation, InfoLogix deployed handsets that enable instantaneous voice, messaging and alert communications throughout the emergency department, allowing caregivers to be reached virtually anywhere. The new handsets also feature longer battery life to reduce down-time, and can be sanitized and disinfected.
"Gwinnett Medical Center has significantly improved internal communications, eliminated workflow inefficiencies, and improved the quality of patient care," says David Gulian, President and CEO of InfoLogix. "We look forward to building our relationship with GMC as we work to design and deploy a mobile solution for its new 150-bed patient tower this year."
