McKesson today announced the release of CareEnhance Clinical Management Software (CCMS®) version 5.0. With new functionality to increase ease-of-use, the solution received positive reviews among the over 400 clients at the McKesson Health Solutions Conference in late October.

CCMS 5.0 includes an updated user interface with Microsoft standard navigation to increase care management effectiveness and ease of use. The release also continues to enhance CCMS’s comprehensive, member-centric view by allowing case managers to add member self-reported medications in addition to the list already populated from pharmacy claims. In addition, the reminder log now has a preview area that expands the ability to sort provider and facility data.

“We are experiencing increased market interest in the area of care management workflow and it was gratifying to hear positive feedback about this release from our customers at the conference,” said Carolyn Wukitch, SVP of McKesson Health Solutions Products Division. “CCMS is certainly a leader in the market and we are committed to working with our customers to continually enhance it.”

“I’m pleased with the new look and feel of CCMS,” said Kendra Fuller, AVP of care management products, McKesson Health Solutions. “Along with our planned 2009 spring and fall releases, we are continually enhancing CCMS in line with our customers’ care management workflow needs.”

Composed of CareEnhance® Care Manager, CareEnhance® Care Strategies and CareEnhance® Disease Monitor modules, the CCMS suite enables healthcare payors to deliver optimal care management while maximizing their resources. The integrity of CCMS’ clinical content enables health plans to make decisions that are based on clinical evidence, align with case and disease management practices, and meet accreditation and regulatory standards. Today more than 70 organizations covering over 21 million lives are using CCMS.
