Low price AI-enabled system to prevent COVID-19 unfold: Innovators at Bhopal’s Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) have developed a low price AI-enabled ‘Crowd and Mask’ Monitoring System to prevent the unfold of COVID-19.

As sporting masks and working towards social distancing are among the many main precautions adopted to prevent COVID-19 unfold, innovators at IISER developed the AI-powered system to assist keep a minimal of three toes of social distancing as college students return to campuses in phases.

The ‘Crowd and Mask’ Monitoring System makes use of the ideas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) in a excessive definition digicam hooked up to a microchip pc and a 5V battery in a 3D printed case to monitor the motion of individuals within the campus. The system sounds an alert (a pre-recorded message) if the mounted digicam detects that social distancing and masks norms should not being adopted by college students or in a gathering.

Talking concerning the innovation, Dr PB Sujit, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, IISER Bhopal, stated, “We wanted a simple advisory system to warn students of breaching social distancing norms at selected locations.”

The AI-enabled system that may replicate handbook policing to guarantee enforcement of COVID-19 prevention norms has been developed Dr Sujit together with Dr Mitradip Bhattacharjee and Dr Santanu Talukdar – Assistant Professors at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Dr Venkateshwar Rao – Assistant Professor at Department of Chemical Engineering and BSMS pupil Kasi Viswanath.

The workforce says it feels that given the chance this system may be deployed at numerous crowded public locations to be sure that the essential Covid security guidelines should not violated.
