Orion Health has released an updated version of its Enterprise hospital information system, featuring the ability to integrate with the Quippe clinical documentation solution to help client hospitals with HIMSS electronic medical record adoption model (EMRAM) accreditation.

Enterprise 20.2.0 provides end-to-end management of hospitals across patient administration, clinical, departmental management, ancillary departments and back office.

In Enterprise 20.2.0 we have introduced several new features across departmental applications, back office and pharmacy. We have also enhanced the clinical documentation features that already exists in Enterprise with the ability to integrate seamlessly with third-party solution Quippeâ„¢, in order to support our customers’ journey to HIMSS EMRAM accreditation.

The new features and enhancements included in the latest release focus on patient workflow and will enable hospitals to process patients through their system more efficiently and accurately.

These customer-focused innovations that will help users to work smarter include:

Improved outpatient clinic management

Users are now able to make changes to sessions more efficiently with the introduction of session template edits. This improved functionality allows users to amend the session set up, define when any changes will take effect from and easily reschedule any patients impacted by the changes.

Theatre management workflow enhancements

The ability for users to create a ‘Surgical Request’ has been implemented as part of the surgical booking workflow. Users can utilise this new feature in order to keep track of the processes that need to be completed for a patient and hospital to be ready for surgery, prior to the booking being made. These requests can be created and managed in isolation or linked to an admission request or admission. Requests can then be booked into theatres, cancelled or deleted, with a viewable audit trail.

Increased capabilities in back office for patient billing

Users are now able to edit single invoices that are part of a multiple invoice split provided they are in temporary status. Prior to this update, users were required to void all invoices in a split if any of them required editing. This feature will help to improve operational efficiencies and supports electronic invoice submissions. It is also a critical feature for billing insurance companies.

Added safety checks in pharmacy module

Pharmacy products can now be configured to include the requirement for a co-signature upon administering medication to a patient. It is also possible to configure the requirement of a co-signature upon checking medication ordering for high risk pharmacy products. This new feature provides an additional layer of safety by ensuring medication is administered correctly and enhancing the monitoring of high-risk drug orders.

Seamless integration of Quippeâ„¢ into patient chart and web clinicals

Customers can now seamlessly integrate Quippeâ„¢ into Enterprise using a single sign on with a consistent user interface look and feel. This integration enhances the creation of reports and clinical findings for display in the Overview tab. Quippeâ„¢ supports customers on their journey to HIMSS EMRAM accreditation through automatic coding of clinical documentation which enables better reporting and analytics.
