Healthcare Data Analytics and Digital Health...

The transformation of raw medical information into strategic intelligence is the defining characteristic of modern health informatics. By leveraging high-performance analytics within unified digital environments, organizations can predict patient needs and optimize resource distribution to enhance overall care efficacy.

Electronic Health Records: Driving Clinical Workflow...

The transition from paper-based charts to comprehensive digital records is a foundational element of modern medical administration. These platforms serve as the central repository for patient data, facilitating clinical decision-making while ensuring that regulatory compliance and operational workflows remain streamlined.

Healthcare Interoperability and Data Exchange Systems:...

Achieving a seamless flow of information between disparate clinical platforms is the primary challenge of modern health IT. The implementation of standardized data protocols and secure exchange frameworks is essential for ensuring that patient records remain accessible and accurate across the entire continuum of care.

Emdat announces the launch of DaRT, or Discrete accurate Reportable Transcription, a solution that enables more efficient utilization of electronic medical records (EMRs) by seamlessly integrating with Emdat’s online medical transcription platform.

Providers and medical transcription service organizations (MTSOs) who use Emdat can now populate EMRs with information entered by transcriptionists rather than physicians, allowing doctors to focus on patient care and potentially leading to significant cost savings. By relieving physicians of this time-consuming data entry responsibility, which ultimately reduces the average number of patients he or she can see in a day, DaRT eliminates what has been a major challenge to the successful adoption of electronic records.

"For some time, electronic medical records have promised to improve patient care and lower costs," said Randy Olver, chief executive officer of Emdat. "By enabling physicians to use these systems without sacrificing the time they can spend with patients, the DaRT solution helps providers turn that hope into a reality."

Doctors can continue to create notes or dictations using their preferred method and send them to a medical transcriptionist, who enters the information into an electronic form. The contents are then uploaded to an EMR as discrete data. The data goes in the same fields of the EMR as if it were entered by the physician, allowing them to conveniently access and search patient records. Emdat’s team of experienced interface specialists developed DaRT as a way to provide accurate transmission of data each and every time, no matter which EMR vendor a hospital or clinic uses.

Emdat is a trusted partner that more than 2,000 health care facilities across the country already count on to reduce the cost of their medical transcriptions. The company’s Qualified Text solution, for example, automatically fills in standardized information for various medical conditions, reducing the number of lines a transcription service has to enter.

In-house transcription services and medical transcription service organizations (MTSOs) that utilize Emdat’s online platform are able to increase their value to providers by fusing their services with EMRs, which a growing number of facilities are expected to adopt because of federal incentives beginning next year.

"Using Emdat’s DaRT-enabled solution is a great way for transcription companies to ready themselves for what is likely to be a significant shift toward electronic records in the years ahead," Olver said.

Emdat representatives will be on hand to discuss DaRT at the national meeting of the Medical Transcription Industry Association (MTIA) from April 28 to May 1. Emdat will occupy booth 13 at the event, which will be held at the Hilton Ocean Walk Village in Daytona Beach, Fla.
