SRC, the market leading provider of digital dictation and voice recognition solutions, and Bluewire Technologies, specialists in electronic clinical software, today announced they have signed an exclusive partnership to provide healthcare organisations with web based clinical information solutions.

SRC, who already supply electronic document creation solutions to over 45 NHS Trusts, will market and deploy the solutions to the UK Healthcare sector. Bluewire Technologies will focus its innovative development team on further enhancing the solutions in order to meet the demanding requirements of clients. The initial offering resulting from the partnership, which is immediately available and already in use within the NHS, is a comprehensive electronic discharge summary solution.

* SRC, in partnership with Bluewire, introduces Electronic Discharge Summary to its range of digital dictation, voice recognition and document production solutions.

* The new solution will enable NHS Trusts to boost efficiencies to create and distribute high quality discharge summaries within 24 hours.

Chris Hart, CEO at SRC said: “Partnering with Bluewire Technologies provides SRC with the opportunity to supply additional leading edge solutions which are specifically tailored to meet the needs of UK healthcare market. And, in particular, to meet some of the requirements of NHS Trusts for cost effective, easy to deploy clinical information systems to complement or substitute for planned national programme solutions.”

Dr Adam Towler, Director at Bluewire Technologies said: “This is a great partnership – there are many synergies between our companies, which share similar values and a strong commitment to innovation and customer service. Coupling our innovative technology with SRC’s proven training, delivery and support capabilities will provide Trusts with the opportunity to benefit from cost effective solutions which meet the demanding requirements of clinicians and deliver immediate productivity improvements and better patient care.”

The SRC eDischarge Summary solution provides acute NHS Trusts with a cost effective solution to the challenges of producing timely and accurate discharge summaries and ensuring that the new targets for delivery of summaries to GP surgeries within 24 hours of patient discharge are met.

The solution is already helping West Suffolk NHS Trust to meet their discharge summary targets and is currently being rolled out throughout the Ealing Hospital NHS Trust to enable discharge summaries to be created and distributed inside 24 hours.

Speaking about the new electronic discharge solution, Kevin Connolly, Director of ICT at Ealing Hospitals said: “Our clinicians and pharmacists were particularly impressed with the functionality and ease of use of the solution. This, coupled with SRC’s proven track record within the Trust for effective and timely deployment, was the key factor in the choice for a Trustwide electronic discharge summary production and distribution solution.”

The new solution can be deployed as a standalone discharge summary solution or integrated with the WinScribe digital dictation and Nuance voice recognition solutions supplied by SRC. By combining the solutions NHS Trusts are provided with the capability to rapidly and cost effectively produce discharge summaries, clinical correspondence and other documents based upon either keyboard and/or dictation input.
