An Easy Guide To Understanding How Gastric Sleeve Surgery Works

An Easy Guide To Understanding How Gastric Sleeve Surgery Works

If you are considering weight loss surgery, or already have it scheduled, you might be wondering how the surgery will work. Many patients who need to lose a significant amount of weight often wonder exactly what their doctor is going to do for them during surgery and why they chose bariatric surgery over other methods like diet and exercise. Gastric sleeve surgery is a relatively new weight loss option in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and some parts of the world and there are many people who still aren’t sure what this means. This article will explain to you how gastric sleeve works, why it is such a popular choice for patients looking for extreme weight loss, and what you can expect when having your procedure.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery

This is an increasingly popular option for people who want to lose weight quickly. Once reserved for the most severely obese patients, gastric sleeve surgery is now a viable method of weight loss for those with a BMI in the range of 30-35 and a strong desire to live a healthier lifestyle. The process is popular in the US and Canada, however, people can undergo a quality vertical sleeve gastrectomy in Mexico if they consult with the right medical professionals at a significantly lower rate. Market prices in Mexico are generally lower than in other areas, with the cost of surgery averaging about $11,500 USD for an all-inclusive package. This is very comparable to the market price in Canada while American citizens can expect to pay more around $20,000 USD on average. Mexican gastric sleeve patients often come out ahead because they make optimal use of their time by saving money and traveling for surgery at lower costs than most other countries offer.

How It Works

The gastric sleeve surgery process is designed to reduce the size of your stomach. The goal is to create a smaller stomach pouch that will allow you to consume less food at each meal, which should lead to weight loss as long as you maintain healthy eating choices and exercise regularly. The actual procedure takes only about 30 minutes and involves removing 3/4 of your stomach using surgical techniques that are similar to those used for a regular gallbladder or appendix removal. You will still have a small portion of your stomach left but it won’t be large enough to hold a significant amount of food so your surgeon can connect the lower end to the small intestine. This reduces the risk of malabsorption and other issues that may cause weight gain, making it a very popular option across Mexico and North America.

The Benefits

Like other forms of bariatric surgery, gastric sleeve surgery can help you lose significant amounts of weight which will improve your overall health as well as reduce your risk for many life-threatening ailments such as diabetes and hypertension. However, this procedure offers several benefits over traditional gastric bypass procedures. Most individuals who have surgical options available to them choose the vertical sleeve gastrectomy because it is less invasive than those other methods and doesn’t require creating a connection between your stomach and intestines (which has its own set of risks). This is a popular option in Mexico because patients can enjoy more benefits at a fraction of the cost.

What To Expect

One of the biggest benefits of choosing gastric sleeve surgery in Mexico over other forms available in North America and Canada is that you will be just fine with traveling for your procedure. You know how safe it is to travel outside of your home country so there’s no need to worry about anything happening during this process. Your medical team will meet with you before your surgery date to ensure all details are worked out ahead of time, which makes it an ideal choice for people who cannot afford or cannot take off work for several months or even years while they wait for weight loss procedures like gastric bypass or gastric banding. You can even opt for all-inclusive packages that include transportation to and from Mexico, hotel accommodations during your recovery time, food vouchers worth 2 weeks of daily meals at your resort, and other benefits designed to make sure you are satisfied with your decision to travel for surgery in the safest country in North America (Mexico).

Gastric sleeve surgery is a popular method of weight loss today because it offers several advantages over other types of weight loss procedures including less risk of nutritional deficiencies and malabsorption issues. People who are not obese enough for more invasive forms of bariatric surgery but want to lose significant amounts of weight quickly often choose this option when they visit Medical Tourism Corporation for assistance in planning their trip to Mexico. We are the leading medical travel company in North America with 10+ years of experience helping people just like you save money on weight loss surgeries that will improve their health and the quality of their lives.

Reasons to Consider an Online Consultation

Reasons to Consider an Online Consultation

The wide availability of the internet and technological advancement has made it possible to consult with licensed medical professionals online. As a result, a face-to-face visit to the clinic or hospital is no longer your only option to get treated. However, as long as you are not dealing with severe conditions or symptoms, you may consult a doctor online, and here are some advantages of doing so.

It saves time

One of the most obvious benefits of doing an online consultation is that it saves time. Going to the clinic will require you to prepare for the visit and commute to be there. It could take time, especially if you live far from the clinic. However, if youโ€™re busy, you can still get the consultation you need, as you can easily squeeze it into your schedule if itโ€™s online.

It saves moneyย

You save money on petrol or fare for the public transport when you have your consultation over the web. Plus, the consultation fee is also generally cheaper than having it in person. So, if you donโ€™t have insurance, itโ€™s a great relief because of the savings you can get.

It offers privacy

You may not feel uncomfortable going to the clinic because you feel embarrassed with the condition that you need to consult with your doctor. You will have complete confidentiality with an online consultation, and you don’t have to worry about other people seeing your face. It will just be between you and your physician. For example, you can do everything online if you have a fungal infection, from consultation to ordering your prescriptions for fungal nail tablets. These doctors often partner with pharmacies so they can deliver prescribed medicines to patientsโ€™ homes. They also make the delivery discreet, so you will not see their name nor the name of the medication on their packaging.

Itโ€™s convenient

You don’t have to wait for your return, which can be a hassle if a long list of patients have their consultation. Sites offering medical consultations have several doctors readily available to get to you immediately. Even if you are out of town or out of the country, you can have the medical attention you need as long as you have an internet connection. Many of these sites are available 24/7 and have practitioners on standby ready to help. So you can get the assistance you need, not just anywhere you are, but anytime you require it.

It lowers the risk of infectionย

COVID-19 is still out there. Unless itโ€™s an emergency that requires the personal attention of a doctor, itโ€™s best to do it online to lower the risk of being infected or acquiring other diseases. As mentioned, everything is done on the web, including purchasing medicines, so you avoid exposure to the crowd.

With all the benefits that you can get from getting an online consultation, itโ€™s something to consider, especially if your condition or symptoms are not severe. However, if itโ€™s life-threatening, go to the nearest hospital right away to seek treatment.

5 Ways to Keep Your Digestive System Healthy

5 Ways to Keep Your Digestive System Healthy

Your digestive system breaks down the liquid and solid foods you eat into the nutrients your body needs. These nutrients include carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. They are usually used for bodybuilding and energy generation.

The digestive system consists of different components, including the gastrointestinal tract, gall bladder, liver, and pancreas. The gastrointestinal tract is made up of the esophagus, large intestine, small intestine, and stomach. It contains bacteria that break down food into nutrients.

To ensure that your digestive system works efficiently, you need to keep it healthy. If you do not keep it healthy, you will often suffer from digestive disorders such as abdominal pain, indigestion, or bloating. Below are more details on how you can keep this system healthy.

1. Drink Enough Water

Drinking enough water can help keep your digestive system healthy. It can help this system function smoothly since it keeps food moving through the intestines. It is also drawn into the colon to soften stool, making it easy to eliminate. However, you should ensure that the water that you drink is clean. Good water filters such as the Berkey water filter for clean water can clean your drinking water.

The amount of water that you should drink every day depends on your gender and your activity level. For instance, if you are a man, you should drink at least 125 ounces of water daily. If you are a woman, you should drink at least 91 ounces of water every day. You should drink it:

  • After waking up
  • Before sleeping
  • Before eating
  • Before taking a bath
  • When exercising

On top of drinking water, you should take water-rich vegetables and fruits. Examples of such fruits and vegetables are:

  • Strawberries
  • Cantaloupe
  • Watermelon
  • Spinach
  • Cauliflower
  • Broccoli
  • Bell peppers

2. Eat Healthy Foods

Eating healthy foods can improve the health of your digestive system. That is why you need to eat single ingredient foods such as legumes, whole grains, and lean meat. You should also eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables since they offer natural enzymes that aid digestion.

Foods rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber should also be part of your diet. Soluble fiber helps the human digestive system absorb water, ensuring that stools are not too liquid. On the other hand, insoluble fiber ensures that food moves smoothly through the digestive tract by adding weight to stool. To get soluble and insoluble fiber, you should take the following foods:

  • Oat bran
  • Nuts
  • Legumes
  • Wheat bran
  • Whole grains
  • Vegetables
  • Barley

You should ensure that you use healthy cooking options when cooking any of these foods. Such cooking options include poaching, steaming, stewing, boiling, and braising. These cooking methods will help ensure that your body does not get too much fat that can slow down digestion.

3. Take Probiotic Supplements

Your digestive tract usually contains good bacteria and yeast, known as probiotics. These bacteria typically help ensure that your digestive system remains healthy. They usually stimulate food movement throughout the system by affecting the nerves responsible for controlling gut movement. To increase the number of these good bacteria, you should take probiotic supplements and foods containing probiotics. Such foods include Greek yogurt, kefir, kombucha, and kimchi. You should not heat these foods before eating them since heat can destroy the good bacteria in them.

Probiotics will help power the PH level in your large intestines, making it easy for stool to move through it. They will also help manage the symptoms associated with different digestive issues such as:

  • Diarrhea
  • Lactose intolerance
  • Constipation
  • Inflammatory bowel disease

You should take these supplements just before you take your meals or together with your meals. However, you should not take them if you have immune system problems. If you notice any severe side effects after taking them, you should talk to your physician. Some of the side effects that you are likely going to experience after taking these supplements include:

  • Stomach upset
  • Diarrhea
  • Bloating
  • Allergic reactions

4. Exercise Regularly

If you want your digestive system to stay healthy, you should exercise to enhance gut flora. It helps keep the microorganisms in the gut in balance. When these microorganisms are in balance, your digestive system will effectively digest all foods. These microorganisms also stimulate the production of certain vitamins such as vitamin K and vitamin B.

Exercising will also help ensure that you remain in shape and strengthen your muscles. That, in turn, will make your digestive tract strong, improving intestinal motility. Food is likely to pass through your intestines quickly when your digestive system muscles are in motion.

When it comes to exercising, you should focus on gentle exercises since vigorous exercises can cause digestive disorders such as rectal bleeding and diarrhea. You should also not exercise immediately after eating. Instead, you should give your digestive system time to digest the food you have taken and then exercise later. Some of the exercises that can help improve the health of your digestive system include yoga and walking.

5. Avoid Stress

Your digestive system and brain are usually in constant communication. That is why your digestive system reacts to emotions and stress. For instance, you may suffer from constipation when stressed.

When you are stressed, your brain is likely to send signals to your digestive system, telling it to produce serotonin. That, in turn, can cause stomach cramping and a decrease in the amount of oxygen and blood flowing to your stomach. It can also cause an imbalance in gut bacteria. All these factors can lead to gastrointestinal disorders such as peptic ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome.

To ensure that your gut bacteria remain in balance and your digestive system remains healthy, you should avoid stress. Below are some of the things you can do to avoid and manage stress.

  • Exercising
  • Avoiding stressors
  • Socializing
  • Getting enough sleep

Digestive disorders can affect anyone. They include constipation, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and bloating. To ensure that you do not suffer from these disorders, you should keep your digestive system healthy. Avoiding stress, drinking enough water, exercising, and eating healthy foods can help improve your digestive health.

3 Long-Term Effects of a Car Accident

3 Long-Term Effects of a Car Accident

No matter how safe you are while on the road, vehicle collisions can happen in an instant.

Car accidents can be highly traumatic, especially if you sustained severe or life-threatening injuries. If left unaddressed, these injuries often lead to severe complications with long-term consequences that can be detrimental to your overall well-being. If you were recently involved in a car accident, here are three possible long-term effects that you should watch out for.

Emotional and physiological effects

Car collisions can be extremely stressful and overwhelming. Even if it was only a minor fender bender, it could still cause lingering emotions that might escalate to intense anxiety and fear. Sadly, some car accident victims often disregard these emotions and refuse to get the necessary help. However, by not acknowledging their feelings, they increase the chances of these emotions turning into something irreversible.

Some of the emotional and mental injuries you need to take note of include sleep disturbances, mood swings, shock, anger, fear, lack of energy, loss of appetite, depression, uncontrollable crying, sexual dysfunction, anxiety, weight fluctuations, mental anguish, humiliation, emotional distress, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). If you are experiencing some of these symptoms, it is vital you seek professional assistance to prevent your emotional and mental trauma from worsening.

Financial effects

The financial consequences following a car accident can be devastating. A vehicle collision has the potential to wreak havoc on your life, financially. Aside from the costly medical bills, you also need to factor in the property damages, increased insurance premiums, lost income, and other future damages expenditures. Even if you feel that you should not be liable to pay for some of these expenses, certain scenarios and conditions might compel you otherwise. It is therefore crucial that you consult with an experienced personal injury attorney.

According to the Onder Law Firm, some of the compensation you may be owed in a lawsuit include treatment costs, medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, reduced earning capability, emotional distress, out-of-pocket expenses, and vehicle repair or replacement. To prevent your financial resources from drying up, make sure you reach out to a legal professional to help you with your case and avoid resolving it on your own.

Physical effects

While some car accident victims often walk away unscathed, many still suffer from severe physical injuries. Broken bones, neck strains, disk damage, fractures, sprains, spinal cord injuries, soft tissue injuries, and whiplash are some of the common injuries associated with car accidents. These injuries can turn into permanent disabilities such as paralysis, amputations, blindness, deafness, mobility impairment, and traumatic brain injury.

These physical injuries can threaten your ability to function and hinder you from enjoying your life. Remember that some symptoms do not manifest until after a few days or even weeks, so ensure you have yourself checked by a medical professional right after the accident.

The long-term consequences of a car accident are not only costly, but they can also be lethal. You must address them immediately so you can get the help and justice you rightfully deserve.

5 Reasons Why Alcohol May Be More Dangerous Than Many Illicit Drugs

5 Reasons Why Alcohol May Be More Dangerous Than Many Illicit Drugs

Alcohol is one of the most widely used substances in the world. Be it a bottle of champagne for celebration or a pint of beer on a boy’s night out, alcohol is considered a part of social norms in many cultures. Alcoholic drinks are enjoyed during times of pleasure and to enhance the craziness of a fun night. Alcohol is used not only in drinks but in several food dishes as well. Both red and white wine is used in several dishes. The wide use and cultural acceptance of this chemical refrain it from becoming a part of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration list of Illicit drugs. Alcohol may provide temporary pleasure but it has long-lasting repercussions. When a person becomes an alcoholic, he ceases to function as a responsible member of society. He stops paying attention to his relationships, his marriage is affected. The person himself may fall into a vicious cycle of serious health issues. Several diseases may follow him throughout his life, such as liver damage, brain dysfunction, and behavior change. Here are the reasons why alcohol may be more dangerous than many drugs.

1. Cultural Acceptance Makes It A Social Norm

alcohol is a drug but it is not considered illegal in the majority of countries. When a substance is culturally accepted and its use is not frowned upon, it becomes a social norm. The same is the case with alcohol. It is widely used in society and never considered taboo. According to a report published by National Survey On Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) in 2019, 85.6 percent of Americans, aged 18 years and above had had alcohol at some point in their lifetime. Alcohol consumption is not restricted to drinks only. Many food items require alcohol one way or another, for instance, the use of red wine to make pasta sauce.

2. Effects On Brain

Alcohol is a psychoactive substance that can compromise brain function by altering the quality and quantity of neurotransmitters. It is a depressant of the Central Nervous System. When a person consumes alcohol, his brain slows down. He feels ‘stupid’ and overexcited. While this feeling may give you the best night out with friends, an overdose may lead to fatality. Brain dysfunction is mainly caused by Alcoholism, one way or another. It changes the physiology of the brain. The damaged brain of an alcoholic can be evident from his slow reactions, poor memory, blurred visions, and sloppy speech. These are only the early-stage damages. Continuous overdose may lead to memory lapses, psychosis, and whatnot.

3. Effects On Body Organs

Continuous overdose from alcohol may leave serious effects on body organs. Alcohol acts as a toxic substance in the human body. All the toxic substances are eliminated through the liver. Liver damage or cirrhosis is the most common organ damage among alcoholics. Kidneys are also affected by the harms of alcohol. This drug has far more serious consequences on different body organs at a time than any other illicit drug. Most of the drugs have more psychological effects than physical damage. Whereas, alcohol not only causes mental health issues but is also a reason behind many body issues. This is why it is considered to be more dangerous than many illegal drugs.

4. Diseases Associated With Alcoholism

Several diseases are associated with alcohol abuse. The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) categorizes drugs into five categories. Alcohol can be easily defined with the drugs of category 1. However, it is never included. Alcohol has far more health hazards than many of the category 1 drugs. It causes memory loss, hypertension, cancer, and cirrhosis. All the late-stage diseases eventually result in death. In the US alone an estimated amount of 95,000 deaths were caused by alcohol abuse in the year 2011-2015. Miscarriage and stillbirth are most common in a pregnant woman who consumes alcohol during pregnancy. Behavioral change, anxiety, and irritation are some other effects of alcohol in the human body.

5. Effects On Society

Alcohol is a drug that has very serious consequences on society as a whole. Alcoholic drivers are almost always involved in some level of roadside accidents. In 2021, California alone had a total of 1,241 alcohol-related fatalities out of 3,563 deaths. Several lives are lost and families destroyed by this poison. Alcoholics are widely involved in domestic violence as well. When a person becomes a binge drinker, his marriage and relationships are bound to be affected. He may feel himself either rushing to fulfill his duties or he may always feel irritated with the obligations that come along with a relationship. Alcohol destroys more families than any other drug as the person becomes selfish and self-centered.

Conclusion

Concluding all the above discussion, it can be established that alcohol is a drug that has more serious consequences and hazards than any of the illegal and forbidden drugs. The main reason being cultural acceptance of drug use and its never-ending health hazards.

Teledentistry: A Virtual Live Dentist for Your Oral Health Needs

Teledentistry: A Virtual Live Dentist for Your Oral Health Needs

Only a few decades ago, practicing dentistry remotely and talking to a live dentist via real-time virtual digital technology was deemed science fiction. In dental school, dentistry students were taught that their ability to diagnose oral conditions and perform dentistry was solely dependent on their hand instruments and clinical abilities. Thus, a dentist with a mirror and probe, or a handpiece, next to the patient sitting in the dental chair, has become the typical scenario that we would picture.

People are now becoming more reliant on telehealth services as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak and its accompanying mobility restrictions. According to one survey, 42% of adult respondents in the United States have used telemedicine services since the outbreak began.

Teledentistry, a variant of telehealth wherein you will be able to talk with a live dentist virtually, has been incredibly beneficial for dentists and the patients during this pandemic, preventing both parties from getting or spreading the virus during clinic appointments. Teledentistry is the practice of dentistry that utilizes telecommunications. It entails the electronic exchange of information between a dentist and the patient using interactive audio and video in order to facilitate online consultation, assessment, and treatment.

Dentists have collaborated extensively with their dental clients to develop a smooth teledentistry process. They will determine what information their patients require for invoicing and insurance purposes and assist them in communicating that information via their websites. Additionally, the dentist will include any relevant scheduling links on their site.

If you are a dentist and would want to venture into teledentistry, below are some tips on establishing and promoting your teledentistry services. Before that, though, let us look first at some few benefits it can offer.

Teledentistry: Benefits Of Talking with a Live Dentist Virtually

Apart from making the communication between a dentist and their patients quicker and easier, teledentistry has a number of additional advantages, including the following:

  • Convenient:

Teledentistry enables patients to get care from the convenience of their homes or any other location as long there is internet access. There may also be less waiting time in between appointments. In the United States, patients typically wait roughly eight minutes to talk with a live dentist.

  • Can immediately provide emergency dental care:

Patients who experience an unexpected problem with their oral health may panic and will want to see a dentist immediately. Teledentistry allows the dentist to provide immediate assistance in diagnosing and treating a patient’s dental problem without requiring them to go to the dental clinic.

  • Can cater to more patients:

Teledentistry enables a dentist to treat more patients because there is no constraint with regards to location. One can get access to teledentistry wherever you are.

  • Meets with the demand for modern communication:

With so many people utilizing videoconferencing and other forms of virtual interaction, teledentistry fits inside the comfort bubble of many patients.ย

Teledentistry: The Protocol For Virtual Consultation With a Live Dentist

According to ADA guidelines, teledentistry can involve the following five modes of patient care services delivery:

Synchronous or live video: this is real-time, two-way communication between an individual – the patient, a caregiver, or provider and the dentist via electronic audiovisual communications.

The synchronous mode of operation is compatible with open-source, live video applications like Zoom or Google Meet. A real-time video call can be utilized for triage, making diagnoses, patient health education, patient management, electronic prescribing fulfillment, and/or referrals to specialists if there is a need. A more advanced method utilizes live virtual consultation into the dentist clinic business software using specialized portals, which are widely obtainable on the digital market.

Asynchronous: this is a mode of service wherein there is a transmission of collected patient data to the dentist using secure digital communication systems for the purpose of evaluating a patient’s condition and/or rendering service outside of face-to-face interaction.

The asynchronous mode of communication enables the dentist to obtain radiographs, pictures, videos, digital copies, and other medical information to conduct a more thorough review of the patient’s problems. These platforms can also actually bolster the dentist’s referral network, as the data acquired is easily shared with other professionals both within and outside of the dental industry. While dedicated platforms are readily available, typical email and messaging applications can be used efficiently as well.

How To Implement Teledentistry

Teledentistry can allow you to continue caring for your patients even as the Covid-19 pandemic persists. Here are some examples of how to do so:

  • Seek professional advice from qualified experts.

Consult with other practitioners who are already utilizing teledentistry to ensure that you adopt it properly into your practice. With assistance, you can learn and employ teledentistry.

  • Recognize and adhere to applicable rules and regulations.

Identify and observe all applicable rules and regulations governing teledentistry; each state may have its own set of laws and federal rules and regulations. The federal government, for example, compels healthcare providers to adhere to the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPAA. Adhering to this existing legislation will be a great help to help you in avoiding potential legal issues.

  • Train your staff.

Once you have determined the most effective method of teledentistry administration, train your personnel on how to advertise it and explain the advantages to existing and new patients.

  • You can start small.

Begin with a small number of patients to evaluate your teledental platform and identify any issues. This will assist you in optimizing your system prior to rolling it out to all patients.

Growing the Visibility and Relevance of Your Teledentistry Services

After implementing and operating your teledentistry system, you must now promote it to increase patient engagement. The following are some of the ways we to market your services:

  • Conduct promotional strategies.

Discounts might help you attract more clients who are trying to save money. Promoting your business with special offers, free consultations, and referral awards will attract a large number of potential patients.

  • Make blogs.

Blog entries contribute significantly to patient education, as they can provide more information regarding the benefits that teledentistry can offer. Additionally, you may encourage patient engagement by giving self-care advice that they can incorporate into their regular dental care.

  • Promote patient participation.

By providing consistent, accurate updates on your teledentistry services, offering oral health tips, and keeping patients updated about other events, you can strengthen your relationships and increase the likelihood that patients will subscribe to your teledentistry services.

These suggestions can significantly aid you in establishing and marketing your teledentistry services. Teledentistry enables you to adjust to unanticipated hurdles and assist your patients without jeopardizing anyone’s safety during these trying times.

Intas launches the World’s First SB-100mg Itraconazole

Intas launches the World's First SB-100mg Itraconazole

One of the worldโ€™s leading pharmaceutical companies, Intas Pharmaceuticals, has made a progressive breakthrough in the Antifungal Therapy domain with the launch of the worldโ€™s first Super Bioavailable Itraconazole-SB 100mg by the Brand Name of Itaspor-SB Forte/Subawin. It has been recently approved by Indian Regulatory Authorities.

Conventional Itraconazole mainstay drug to fight fungal infection has high result variance and low patient compliance because of dosing dependence upon food, acidic beverage, antacids consumption etc. and overall cost of treatment.

Itaspor SB Forte/Subawin is expected to improve patient compliance and reduce the Doctorโ€™s counselling time. It will reduce dosing to half. Furthermore, patients can take it with or without a meal with just water or as directed by the physician. The cost of the therapy is also reduced substantially.

As per published literature and clinicians’ experience, the Itraconazole molecule has low blood drug concentration, affecting safety and efficacy when taken orally. These blood levels highly vary from patient to patient. Moreover, the recommendation to take it with a full fatty meal and an acidic beverage further reduces patient compliance and adds to the problem of desired blood drug concentration. Another factor is the cost of therapy for fungal infection patients, as treatment duration varies from 3 to 8 weeks.

โ€œIntasโ€™ newest formulation within the 25 year old brand Itaspor is formulated with Super Bioavailable (SB) Technology that makes 1 Itaspor-SB Forte capsule equivalent to conventional 200mg Itraconazole,โ€ said Dr Alok Chaturvedi, Senior Vice-president & Head – Medical Affairs, Intas Pharmaceuticals.

โ€œGiven the benefits of Super Bioavailable (SB) Technology like half the drug, no inter-patient variability, freedom to prescribe with/without food, any beverage, even with Antacids, and that too with reduction in overall treatment cost certainly seems to be a win-win proposition.โ€, said Dr R D Kharkar, Senior Consultant Dermatologist, Mumbai.

About Intas
Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is a leading, vertically integrated pharmaceutical company based in Ahmedabad, India, having end-to-end capabilities of formulation development, manufacturing and marketing along with backward integration of APIs. Intas has more than 18,000 employees, sells products in more than 85 countries and has 14 manufacturing sites worldwide. The Intas groupโ€™s revenues amounted to USD 2.1 bn in FY 2020 and the compounded annual growth rate of Intasโ€™ revenues has exceeded 25% in the past 10 years.

How Much is Drug Rehab?

Health Symptoms That You Shouldn't Ignore

People who suffer from drug addiction often take extreme risks to get their hands on the substances they crave. Some will steal from their loved ones, while others will resort to criminal activities in order to fuel their addiction. It’s also not uncommon for drug addicts to find themselves facing prosecution because of their actions while under the influence.

The goal of drug rehab is to help addicts get clean from drugs. During this treatment, drug addicts learn how to live a more productive life, and they are given all of the help and support they need to stop taking drugs. (source: Reco Intensive) While this may sound straightforward, it can be very challenging. If you want to find out more about drug rehab, including the benefits of it, and how much it costs, then keep reading below:

The Benefits of Drug Rehab

There are many important benefits of drug rehab. Some of these benefits include:

  • Breaking the addiction cycle โ€“ drug rehab centers are the perfect place for addicts who want to overcome their addiction. Not only are these centers drug-free, but they are also filled with people who can help patients both medically and emotionally too.
  • Learn about addiction โ€“ drug rehab centers help people to understand what triggers their cravings for drugs. Once you understand your triggers, you can avoid them or learn how to manage them.
  • Work out what the underlying issues are โ€“ people become addicted to drugs for many reasons. Counselors in drug rehab centers help addicts to dig into these issues, understand them, and build new coping skills.
  • Remain free from addiction โ€“ research suggests that not only are drug addicts more likely to overcome addiction if they attend a drug rehab center, but they are also more likely to remain drug-free once their treatment has ended.
  • They help you to get your life back on track โ€“ once the center has helped you to overcome your addiction, they will do everything in their power to help you get your life back on track.

As you can see, there are many benefits to attending a drug rehab center. Not only do they help you to get drug-free, but they also help you to deal with any underlying issues too.

The Cost of Drug Rehab

There are several different types of drug rehab. The type of care you choose will affect how much you have to pay. Some of the options available to you include:

  • Detox โ€“ outpatients detox usually costs between $1,000 and $1,500. However, the exact cost of detox will depend on whether itโ€™s part of an inpatient program and how serious your addiction is. If the substance you use has more dangerous detox side effects, then thereโ€™s a possibility youโ€™ll have to pay extra for treatment, as you will require more careful monitoring
  • Inpatient rehab โ€“ for a 30-day inpatient program, you can expect to pay anywhere between $6,000 and $20,000.
  • Outpatient rehab โ€“ if your addiction is mild to moderate, then outpatient rehab may be a better option for you. Outpatient rehab is often much cheaper than inpatient rehab. In fact, for a 3-month outpatient rehab program, you can expect to pay approximately $5,000.
  • Medications โ€“ the type of medication and treatment you require will have an impact on the price of rehab. While some people may not require any medication during their rehab, others will need it during the detox phase of the program. If you require medication, you will be charged for this.

Paying for Your Treatment

One of the best ways to pay for drug rehab treatment is through your insurance. However, not everyone has insurance, and even if you do, it might not cover all types of treatment. The amount your insurance covers will depend on the insurer and what your health provider accepts.

The good news is that even if you donโ€™t have insurance, there are ways to get help. One option available to you is to look for a free or low-income center. Another is to look into programs that offer financing options.

While you may be worried about paying for treatment, itโ€™s important to think of addiction rehab as an investment. Even though it costs you money in the short term, over time it will pay off. Once youโ€™ve overcome your addiction you will be able to get your life and career back on track. Not only that, but you wonโ€™t be spending money on drugs either.

While drug rehab may not be the cheapest option available to drug addicts who are trying to overcome their addiction, research has shown that it is one of the best options available. In fact, it has helped more addicts to overcome their addiction issues than any other treatment option currently available. If youโ€™re an addict who wants to get clean, then make sure you consider rehab.

Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida (USF) Muma College of Business announced a partnership to enhance career development and foster continuous growth for health care professionals. The People Development Institute (PDI) will offer a broad range of non-clinical courses to all team members at Tampa General Hospital, from security officers to surgeons. To offer a world-class learning experience, Tampa General is leveraging the expertise of the USF Muma College of Business and many courses will be led by facilitators from USF.

“Tampa General Hospital’s vision is to be the safest, most innovative academic health system in America and that demands the best training and development for our health care professionals,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General Hospital. “This unique collaboration between TGH and the USF Muma College of Business will meet those needs and directly impact the professional growth of every one of our team members.”

“It is often said you are judged by the company you keep,” said Moez Limayem, the Lynn Pippenger Dean of the USF Muma College of Business, “and we could not have picked a better partner with whom to collaborate on this project than Tampa General Hospital, a top-rated health care provider in the nation. The level of commitment both TGH and the USF Muma College of Business have devoted to this endeavor will only up the level of service for both our organizations,” Limayem added. “USF continues to prove time and time again that it is a valuable resource for our outside partners and that mutual engagement benefits everyone in this community. We plan to maintain and strengthen this partnership for years to come.”

The PDI will initially offer curriculum through TGH and USF with the goal of expanding across Florida and then nationally. As PDI participants complete their courses, they will earn badges recognizing their expertise in each competency. Courses will be selected and prioritized by a Curriculum Advisory Committee (CAC) led by the PDI’s Academic Director, Joann Farrell Quinn, Ph.D., MBA, and associate professor at the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. Quinn will work with CAC members from various divisions and departments at TGH to craft curriculum that will attract world-class faculty to deliver the best subject matter in its class. Courses will include but not be limited to:

  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Analytics
  • Financial Management
  • Networking
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Conflict Management

“The Institute is an investment in our most important asset โ€“ our team members,” said Rico Ruiz, director of Organizational Development and co-director of the People Development Institute. “If we are going to ask our team members to behave and act differently, then we must teach them how to behave and act differently. This unique, comprehensive People Development Institute will allow us to leverage the expertise of our partners in the USF Muma College of Business to set the industry standard for how we develop all team members’ skill sets. The Institute will support their career aspirations and equip them with the behaviors, knowledge and skills to drive their holistic development so as an organization we can achieve TGH’s vision to be the safest, most innovative academic health system in America!”

By leveraging the expertise of the USF Muma College of Business, the PDI will offer a world-class learning experience like no other. “Every aspect of the People Development Institute has been co-designed and co-created by the TGH and USF teams to serve the needs of every health care professional, from a valet to a vascular surgeon,” said Matthew Mullarkey, Ph.D., director of the Doctor of Business Administration program for the USF Muma College of Business and executive sponsor of the People Development Institute. “Our investment in people is the only way to sustain world-class levels of patient care. Ourย partnership with TGH is the best way for USF to develop the training and programs that meet those needs for the health care professional of today and tomorrow.”

People Development Institute courses will be offered virtually with plans to expand in a variety of formats, including hybrid and face-to-face instruction. Classes are free to all TGH team members. Tampa General will cover the cost of all training materials required for courses and the TGH Foundation has committed to fully funding the PDI for its first five years.

“The Tampa General Hospital Foundation is proud to support a program that establishes a standard for professional development across the health care industry. Previously, the Foundation has focused on providing funding for equipment, materials and programs required by TGH. Now, we are able to provide support for the most important component of Tampa General โ€“ our health care professionals,” said Greg Celestan, past chairman of the Tampa General Hospital Foundation.

Registered nurse and clinician Andrea “Cookie” Robinson is taking courses and already seeing the benefits. “I get actionable information from the courses offered through the PDI,” she said. “I’m new to leadership and managing people who are older or have more experience than I do. I am learning to approach each interaction with intent and how to work with my team members on process improvements. If I want my unit to be great, I need to lead the way and these courses are helping me do that.”
