The Asian medical community together with internationally renowned anaesthesiologists, clinicians and researchers in the fields of total intravenous anesthesia and target controlled infusion eagerly await the 3rd World Congress of Total Intravenous Anaesthesia and Target Controlled Infusion, TIVA–TCI 2011.
This biennial congress, and a World Society of Intravenous Anaesthesia (WorldSIVA) event, is set over three days, and previously took place in Venice, Italy in 2007 and Berlin, Germany in 2009.
The TIVA-TCI method of anesthesia – which has received approval in Europe and Asia – highlights the disparity between developed countries where anesthetic-related mortality rates stand at approximately 0.01%, compared to 1–10% in developing countries (according to the WHO Guidelines for Safe Surgery, 2009).
TIVA-TCI 2011 aims to improve the standards of intravenous anesthesia across the world and will explore recent developments in the field. As just the third congress in the series, TIVA–TCI has already established itself as an essential meeting for clinicians from this specialty, offering both a high level interactive scientific program focusing on new technology and safer techniques in anesthesia and intensive care, and providing unprecedented networking opportunities.
Shifting from Europe to Asia for the first time, the upcoming meeting will take place at the state of the art Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore from March 31– April 2, 2011.
