Medical Taiwan 2026, organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), concluded today (June 27) at TWTC Hall 1. The three-day exhibition attracted visitors from 63 countries, with Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and South Korea ranking among the top five visitor markets. This year’s exhibition also drew a strong international presence, with nearly 20 buyer groups organized by industry associations from around the world. Notably, first-time buyer groups included medical device manufacturers, medical software industry associations, and hospital associations from emerging and strategic markets such as Saudi Arabia, Australia, Hungary, India, and Vietnam, underscoring Medical Taiwan’s growing international appeal as a leading platform in Asia for smart healthcare trade and industry exchange.
Taiwan continues to strengthen its global competitiveness through its comprehensive industrial supply chain, spanning semiconductors, precision instruments, and electronic manufacturing, while integrating advanced medical device manufacturing with AI-driven innovation. During the exhibition, the One-on-One Procurement Meetings facilitated approximately 580 business-matching sessions between 107 international buyers from 46 countries—including Japan, Brazil, Israel, Hungary, the UK, Kazakhstan, Egypt, the US, Vietnam, Australia, Germany, Mexico, Romania, and Nigeria—and nearly 200 exhibitors. The meetings are projected to generate US$168.7 million in business opportunities, further underscoring the competitiveness of Taiwan’s smart healthcare industry on the global stage.
Exhibitors responded positively to this year’s exhibition, noting significant increases in both the number and diversity of international buyers compared with previous editions. Buyers also expressed strong interest in smart healthcare solutions, digital health technologies, and high-value medical devices. The strong demand highlights growing international interest in Taiwanese medical technologies and reinforces Medical Taiwan’s role as a key platform for international buyers to explore industry trends and develop partnerships across Asia.
Themed activities held throughout the exhibition were also well received. The “Taiwan Patent GO” pavilion, established by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO), showcased innovative patented technologies in precision medicine, AI-enabled healthcare, and assistive devices. The pavilion attracted buyers from Singapore, Qatar, the US, India, and Romania, who engaged in discussions on technology collaboration and market expansion.
The “RX FOR FUTURE Forum,” which focused on global healthcare trends, featured Professor Bruce Leff of Johns Hopkins University, a pioneer of the Hospital-at-Home (HaH) model, along with experts from Japan, Israel, and Australia. The speakers shared insights into home-based medical care and smart nursing. Experts highlighted AI, telemedicine, and digital health as key technologies driving the transformation of healthcare delivery at home. The “Digital Healthcare Pavilion” further showcased these trends through scenario-based demonstrations of Taiwan’s integrated hardware and software capabilities, attracting in-depth inquiries from buyers from Mexico and Chile, as well as representatives of the Australian Medical Software Industry Association.
Furthermore, the M-novator Demo Day, held on the first day of the exhibition, successfully connected domestic and international startups with medical institutions and investors. The event attracted financial institutions and investment firms, including Fubon Financial Holding, Biopro Bioteck, and CDIB Capital, facilitating connections between innovative technologies and capital markets while strengthening international collaboration in Taiwan’s smart healthcare sector.
TAITRA stated that Medical Taiwan 2026 successfully brought together players from the global healthcare supply chain and fostered cross-sector innovation, further reinforcing Taiwan’s position as a leading hub for smart healthcare collaboration in Asia. Looking ahead, Medical Taiwan will continue to serve as a premier platform for smart healthcare trade and innovation, working with international partners to promote sustainable industry development and create new opportunities for global collaboration and business growth.
