InterSystems, a creative data technology provider dedicated to helping customers solve the most critical scalability, interoperability and speed challenges, announced that it will share its vision for “Innovations in Data” with the healthcare industry at the InterSystems Virtual Summit 2021.

Every year, the InterSystems Summit event provides technology information and peer interaction. This year it takes the form of a virtual event for the second time, with sessions running from 26 October to 29 October. Sessions can be viewed live or on demand so organisations around the world can easily attend, and participation is free.

InterSystems thought leaders will present on new developments in healthcare analytics, interoperability and FHIR®, cloud computing, and patient engagement & virtual care. Healthcare providers, and healthtech and medtech suppliers, can also hear from other organisations about turning data into actionable knowledge, insights and value.

“The digital transformation of healthcare has left us awash in data – but how can we turn this massive amount of data into actionable knowledge, insight and value?” said Luciano Brustia, Regional Managing Director, Asia Pacific at InterSystems. “Following the success of last year’s successful online event InterSystems is again delighted to host a free Virtual Summit addressing this important question.”

In a local highlight, Bruce Winzar, Executive Director Innovation and Digital Services/Regional CIO for Bendigo Health in Australia will present on the topic of “Data-Driven Innovation and Leveraging EMR Benefits.”

A thought leader panel discussion titled “Analytics in Healthcare: Opening New Frontiers for Care” will feature high-profile panelists from CyncHealth and Beth Israel Lahey Health. In a session titled “New Efforts to Support Clinical Research”, attendees will also hear how researchers leverage clinical data managed by InterSystems IRIS to support key use cases such as real-time patient recruitment and cohort-specific data enclaves.

In another session, titled “Cohorts, Analysis & Tracking Outcomes for COVID-19 Patients”, attendees will learn how Greater Houston Healthconnect leveraged a health information exchange to identify COVID-19 cohorts, support public and local health departments in pandemic management, and used the InterSystems HealthShare® Unified Care Record for analysis of COVID-19 comorbidities and outcomes.
