Lee Memorial Health System to Install Agfa HealthCare’s Integrated IMPAX® Radiology and Cardiology PACS Solution

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announces today that the Lee Memorial Health System (LMHS) of Southwest Florida has chosen Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX® Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) for its radiology department. With this extensive agreement, LMHS will expand its current IMPAX Cardiovascular image and information management solution (CVIS), also from Agfa HealthCare, to facilitate an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for all patients of the health system. LMHS performs around 680,000 radiology and cardiology exams, combined, per year.

The enterprise PACS solutions planned for LMHS will cover all hospital locations and outpatient centers, including physician offices within the health system. Clinicians from any location will have the ability to view all their patients' images on one review station. Phase one of the installation is scheduled to begin this December.

"We chose Agfa HealthCare's PACS solution because of their experience and proven track record in providing radiology and cardiology image management solutions to large multi-facility health systems," said Mike Smith, Chief Information Officer for Lee Memorial Health System. "We are proud to make this significant investment in our health records so that we can provide our caregivers with more effective and convenient access to patient information and images. These solutions will support our commitment to patient-centered healthcare and ensure that our patients and their families remain the priority."

Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX system is a web-deployable image and information management solution with advanced image processing designed to simplify customer reporting activities, increasing customer throughput and decreasing report turnaround time.

"Agfa HealthCare's leading healthcare IT solutions integrate imaging and information systems into a single workflow, connecting caregivers with the knowledge and tools required to deliver quality healthcare efficiently," said Lenny Reznik, director of Enterprise Imaging and Information, Agfa HealthCare, United States. "We believe that the synergy of Agfa HealthCare's clinical expertise and information technology across radiology and cardiology will allow Lee Memorial's healthcare professionals to benefit from improved efficiency and increased attention to patient safety."
