AYN InfoTech Re-shaping Healthcare Industry By Blockchain-powered Cedar Healthcare

AYN InfoTech offers Cedar Healthcare application, a techno-driven application that uses advanced methodologies and strategies to provide better patient care. It is the only blockchain secured application in India that stores medical data in an encrypted format. They have taken the healthcare industry to the next level by providing ample facilities. It is a big chance if you want to know how technology can bring revolution to the healthcare industry.

Cedar Healthcare is the first blockchain-based healthcare software in India that stores medical data on the blockchain using hyperledger technology. The Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is an electronic version of the patient’s medical data maintained and available at times.

AYN InfoTech as leverage blockchain technology, with which they store medical data like doctor prescription, medical reports, and other critical medical data in an encrypted format. This medical data is stored in the blocks, and each block is connected via validating nodes that validate each transaction, maintains the ledger, and runs a consensus, which is BFT consensus protocol.

The major revolution that Cedar Healthcare brings to the Healthcare industry:

A. Maintain Proper Medical Data Globally
The patient medical data is stored at multiple hospitals, pathologies, and pharmacies. Blockchain stored all the data in chronological order and connected them by segregating information accordingly. The stored data is accessible anytime and from any location.

AYN Infotech, with its revolutionizing product, has let the healthcare industry overcome the challenges of patient data unavailability.

Only authorized users have access to patient’s medical data and this helps doctors to treat patients with correct care service.

B. Bridge Gap Between Insurance Industry and Healthcare Industry
AYN Infotech has integrated insurance companies, pharmacies, hospitals, and pathologies on a single Cedar Healthcare platform. This benefits patient who lacks awareness and knowledge regarding health insurance and how it can benefits.

The important thing is the cedar platform automatically notifies the insurance company if the patient is eligible for the benefits. Many times, patients do not claim such benefits, but Cedar healthcare notifies each sector automatically.

C. Borderless Data Sharing
Cedar Healthcare has made data sharing among healthcare providers easily, keeping security as the first concern. With blockchain security, only authorized users can view the patient data and make changes if they are authorized.

The changes made in medical history is updated throughout. These changes are further viewable to other healthcare users.

Now, it is not mandatory to carry your report and medical document wherever you go. Patients need to know the id, and the whole medical history and medical condition are accessible to the doctor.

D. Better Digital Communication
Cedar Healthcare has provided various communication channels like video calling, messaging, and simple phone calling. This enalbes doctor communicates with other healthcare users and has contact details visible, which help them understand the patient medical condition more concisely.

The nurse can update all the health data when the patient is admitted to the hospital concisely on the application, which keeps the doctor updated with the medical health condition of the patient.

HBKiCare Sponsors Leading Middle East Telehealth Technologies Forum to Promote Remote COVID-19 Healthcare

HBKiCare a pioneering developer of IoT (Internet of Things) software for remote health monitoring, announced that it will sponsor the leading Middle East Telehealth Technologies Forum. HBKiCare was launched recently by Hamad Bin Khalifa Department of Projects (HBK DOP) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) together with its partner, SURE Universal Ltd, a leading software developer from Israel specializing in remote patient monitoring.

With the COVID-19 driven tsunami in the telehealth sector, the Middle East Telehealth Technologies Forum brings together leading healthcare companies in the Middle East to share their experiences, lessons learned, and to discuss opportunities and digital health challenges.

Anwar Hussein, CEO of HBK DOP, stated: ” We are proud to sponsor this Middle East Telehealth Technology forum and demonstrate a solution for COVID-19 that can benefit the health and well-being of the entire Middle East region.”

SURE’s CEO, Viktor Ariel, will give a keynote presentation about HBKiCare’s remote outpatient IOT monitoring solution for COVID-19.

“We are excited to participate in this prestigious event and to speak about the importance of remote health monitoring during COVID-19 pandemic in our region,” stated SURE’s CEO, Dr. Ariel. “I am proud of our HBKiCare product and our partnership with HBK DOP, which is bringing together new solutions and forging new relationships between Israel and our regional neighbours in the Middle East.”

HBKiCare, was the first joint product launch between an Israeli health-tech company and UAE firm following signing of the historic peace deal. The innovative product, powered by SURE’s technology, provides a Universal Remote Healthcare IOT platform and home care kit enabling continuous outpatient monitoring of wellness with maximum flexibility and affordability.

Health First Enhances Caring, Compassion and Connections with Families Using Vocera Ease

Health First Enhances Caring, Compassion and Connections with Families Using Vocera Ease

Vocera Communications, Inc., a recognized leader in clinical communication and workflow solutions, announced that Health First deployed the Vocera Ease application in its four Central Florida hospitals to improve patient and family communication. The cloud-based application enables nurses and other healthcare professionals to send secure texts, photos and video updates to a patientโ€™s designated loved ones during a hospital stay or medical procedure. Family members and friends can respond to updates with emojis, giving immediate feedback and support to caregivers.

Between April 15 and Oct. 2 of this year, Health Firstโ€™s Holmes Regional Medical Center sent nearly 19,000 secure messages to patientsโ€™ loved ones across 49 states. In turn, these families and friends responded to care teams with more than 26,000 emojis, including 13,000 thumbs-ups, 8,000 hearts and 4,500 prayer hands.

โ€œEven during the best of times, a hospital stay can cause anxiety for patients and their families. Not only are they dealing with a medical procedure, but they often canโ€™t be together in the hospital. Seeing a reassuring picture of grandma or a newborn family member provides needed comfort,โ€ said Mark Rosenbloom, M.D., FACS, CPE, Vice President of Clinical Transformation at Health First. โ€œWe are dedicated to providing the best possible healthcare experience and hope having access to the Vocera Ease application will help our patientsโ€™ and their loved ones feel cared for and have more peace of mind.โ€

Health First can track patient and family experience in real-time using the customizable in-app survey. Based on operating room survey results between April and October 2020 at Holmes Regional Medical Center, 97% of respondents indicated the hospital demonstrated compassion and caring by offering the Ease app to patients and families. Additionally, 97% said they would recommend the hospital to others based on their experience with the application.

In addition to Holmes Regional Medical Center, Health Firstโ€™s Cape Canaveral Hospital, Health Firstโ€™s Palm Bay Hospital and Health Firstโ€™s Viera Hospital use the Ease application in operating rooms (OR) and newborn intensive care units (NICU). The mobile solution connects families and loved ones, no matter where they are, and helps support social distancing measures required by COVID-19 protocols.

Care teams can send secure updates from the OR, NICU, ICU, radiology, the emergency room, and other inpatient and outpatient areas The HIPAA-compliant messages, pictures and videos disappear 60 seconds after being viewed, and nothing is saved on the mobile device, providing an additional layer of security and privacy. The Ease application also provides secure two-way video conferencing between patientsโ€™ families and care teams.

โ€œWe are proud to support Health First, a long-time Vocera customer, as it continues improving communication and the healthcare experience for all,โ€ said Brent Lang, Chairman and CEO of Vocera. โ€œRestoring human connections, and helping improve the lives of patients, families and care teams is part of our core mission, which is so critical during a time when many of us can feel disconnected.โ€

NorthShore Care Supply Announces COVID-19 Support for ICU Nurses

NorthShore Care Supply Announces COVID-19 Support for ICU Nurses

NorthShore Care Supply announced a program for ICU nurses and other COVID first responders in the U.S., including a free trial of two bags of adult diapers as well as a 20 percent discount on all absorbent adult diapers, protective underwear, bladder control pads and cleansing wipes available at its NorthShore.com website. ICU nurses and other COVID first responders can take advantage of this program and receive their personalized free trial and discount by contacting NorthShore directly.

โ€œWe want to show our appreciation for the dedication of our medical providers and their heroic work during this pandemic,โ€ says Adam Greenberg, president and founder, NorthShore Care Supply. โ€œWeโ€™ve been contacted by a number of ICU nurses this year treating COVID patients who are struggling to meet the needs of their patients during extended shifts while managing with overactive balder (OAB) or bladder or bowel incontinence. Due to the added restrictions of PPE, frequent toileting is just not an option for most ICU nurses today.โ€

The NorthShoreยฎ MEGAMAXโ„ข diaper-style disposable briefs are uniquely designed for up to 12 hours of protection for extreme or total urinary incontinence. โ€œHaving peace of mind that leaks and odors will be contained with confidence is a life-saver for many people,โ€ says Greenberg.

Bladder or bowel dysfunction affects around 100 million adults in the U.S. and often requires a combination of medical treatments and management devices for people to maintain their normal routine. When people are unable to use the toilet at normal intervals, it further puts a strain on the bladder muscles, which may already be weakened from life events or underlying medical conditions.

โ€œOur healthcare workers are dealing with PPE shortage issues, overcrowded Emergency Rooms and ICUs, stress and long hours,โ€ says Greenberg. โ€œWe can help make peopleโ€™s lives and jobs just a little easier by providing the leak protection they need during the pandemic. Most hospital grade or store brand adult diapers are not designed for such extreme circumstances. However, NorthShore has developed some of the worldโ€™s most absorbent diapers after almost 20 years of experience serving the disabled and caregiver markets, including those with severe incontinence from conditions such as neurogenic bladder, kidney dysfunction, genetic disorders and Crohnโ€™s & Colitis.โ€

About NorthShore Care Supply

Founded in 2002, NorthShore Care Supply provides peace of mind to families managing with moderate to severe incontinence through life-changing absorbent products. The company is committed to #EndHealthStigma as we help 80 million Americans managing some form of bladder or bowel incontinence live their life to the fullest. Our featured NorthShoreยฎ brand is the leading premium adult diaper brand in the U.S.

Signify Health Acquires Healthcare Payment Blockchain Company PatientBlox

Signify Health Acquires Healthcare Payment Blockchain Company PatientBlox

Signify Health, a leading provider of technology-enabled healthcare solutions designed to keep people healthy and happy at home has acquired PatientBlox, an Atlanta-based technology company with deep expertise in applying distributed ledger technology in healthcare. The acquisition accelerates Signifyโ€™s prospective provider payment capabilities for episodes of care, supporting the companyโ€™s commitment to advance value-based care through novel payment and risk arrangements. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The addition of blockchain technology enables a further shift away from traditional fee-for-service models. By making payments to providers at the start of the episode, providers are incentivized to drive care redesign because there is shared measurement and accountability at every step of the process, which results in improved care coordination, outcomes, and cost savings.

An episode of care is a healthcare event โ€” a condition or a treatment โ€” that is marked by a sequence of interactions between a patient and providers. The blockchain can capture each of those interactions and the patientโ€™s care milestones that trigger payments. The PatientBlox platform is designed to manage these transactions without relying on fee-for-service claims.

As part of the acquisition, Signify will integrate the PatientBlox technology into its already robust and scalable value-based care platform, which supports $6B in healthcare spend annually associated with the federal governmentโ€™s bundled payment program, BPCI-A, and episodes of care payment programs by health plans and employers.

The proprietary PatientBlox technology is built-for-purpose and highly-secure, enabling functionality that facilitates contract and payment administration under a prospective payment model. Under its expanded platform, Signify will offer payers and providers a diverse array of payment options to meet them where they are in their value-based care journey.

Call for UK Government to protect rehabilitation services during COVID-19

The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) has called on the Government to protect staff working in rehabilitation services from redeployment and to provide a national strategy for rehabilitation as the health and care services in England cope with the second wave of COVID-19.

RCOT, along with some of the UKโ€™s leading charities and associations, such as Age UK, the Alzheimerโ€™s Society, the British Heart Foundation, the MS Society, and others, have written a joint letter to Jo Churchill MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Prevention, Public Health and Primary Care, calling on the Government to ensure that rehabilitation services are supported to restart fully.

The letter has been sent as members continue to experience a โ€˜tsunamiโ€™ of demand on rehabilitation support services, and as the NHS and Social Care sector start to grapple with winter pressures.
Supporting the vulnerable

The letter highlights that as the UK enters the second, winter wave of the COVD-19 pandemic, demand on these services is only going to grow, pointing to recent data that shows 91% of people living with โ€˜long COVIDโ€™ will need rehabilitation in one form or another.

It also notes that people living with long-term conditions are also being denied access to essential rehabilitation services, and a recent survey by the MS Society has also demonstrated that 70% of people with MS could not see a rehabilitation professional when they needed to between start of the first lockdown and August.

The letter states: โ€˜As the NHS and Social Care sector start to grapple with winter pressures and the second wave of the virus, it is essential that those who are most vulnerable receive the rehabilitation support they require to avoid the long-term impact on their health and wellbeing. Rehabilitation is playing a vital role in the recovery from COVID-19, as well as being a pillar of essential support for those with long-term or progressive conditions, physical injuries and poor mental health.โ€™
Older people becoming deconditioned and frail

The letter also draws attention to concerns regarding the wellbeing of the UKโ€™s older population, as a recent survey by Age UK has shown that many older people are struggling with cognitive decline and the loss of mobility and balance as a result of social distancing and the lack of mental stimulation.

Another survey is highlighted, which has been conducted by Alzheimerโ€™s Society. This revealed that there has been a reported deterioration in symptoms of 82% of the people affected by dementia.

The letter states: โ€˜All of these factors combined create a worrying situation that we cannot risk getting worse for their physical, mental and emotional health.

โ€˜We recognise that the second wave will place great demand on acute services and that some redeployment might be necessary but should be kept to a minimum. To protect capacity in rehabilitation services, including backfill where redeployment cannot be avoided, local providers must be enabled to bring in additional staff on temporary contracts.โ€™

It continues: โ€˜Rehabilitation is proven to facilitate hospital discharge, reduce the need for packages of care, prevent hospital admissions and reduce pressure on primary care. Conversely, denying access to rehabilitation has devastating effects upon a personโ€™s long-term physical and mental health, leaving people dependent on care and support or unable to work, and placing significant additional pressures on the most costly parts of the health and care system.โ€™

The organisations have called on the Government to provide a national strategy for rehabilitation to ensures these vital services are reopened with adequate staff and space.

The call asks that:

People impacted from the first wave do not suffer further from a lack of rehabilitation support
People that get COVID-19 can access the rehabilitation support they need to aid their recovery
People who have non-COVID related rehabilitation needs are able to access vital rehabilitation support when and where they need it

Alongside Julia Scott โ€“ RCOT Chief Executive, other signatories include Karen Middleton CBE โ€“ Chief Executive, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Dr Charmaine Griffiths, CEO, British Heart Foundation, and Kate Lee, CEO, Alzheimerโ€™s Society.
