Trimedx has introduced new agentic AI capabilities within its TMX Protect platform, aimed at helping health systems identify, prioritize and address medical device cybersecurity risks more efficiently. The capabilities are designed to reduce remediation time for cybersecurity projects by 75% on average, while giving healthcare cybersecurity teams greater visibility into vulnerabilities across connected medical devices. More than 50% of connectable medical devices have known critical vulnerabilities, while 99% of hospitals manage connected medical devices with known, exploited vulnerabilities.

TMX Protect brings together medical device cybersecurity data, risk intelligence and workflow capabilities, achieving up to 95% identification and matching accuracy across connected medical devices. Through the new agentic AI capabilities, users can interact with this intelligence through natural-language prompts to quickly obtain information needed for risk assessment and action. Teams can ask questions about connected medical devices, determine which assets pose the greatest risk, generate reports and risk assessments, and prioritize remediation according to both cybersecurity and clinical considerations. The platform also enables organizations to track remediation activities and identify mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities where a manufacturer-approved patch may not be available.

“Health systems are managing an increasingly complex landscape of connected medical devices and cybersecurity threats With more than 50% of connected medical devices having a known critical vulnerability, teams need better ways to identify and prioritize risk,โ€ says Trimedx Chief Data and AI Officer Srilekha Akula. “The new agentic AI capabilities within TMX Protect help turn large volumes of device and vulnerability data into actionable insights, enabling teams to prioritize what matters most and take steps that strengthen security while supporting patient care.” The platform is intended to move healthcare systems beyond vulnerability identification toward risk assessment, prioritization and faster remediation. Trimedx said the capabilities also streamline risk reduction planning, improve prioritization and give cybersecurity analysts quicker access to information needed for decision-making. By combining AI-native insights with Trimedx’s cybersecurity expertise and proprietary data, TMX Protect supports a more proactive, risk-based approach to protecting connected medical devices and supporting patient care.
