Saint Peter’s Healthcare System in New Brunswick, NJ, has expanded its existing collaboration with hellocare.ai to further integrate advanced technological solutions into its clinical operations. Announced on July 1, 2026, the initiative aims to deploy comprehensive intelligent hospital room capabilities across the organization. This follows the successful implementation of previous modules focused on AI-assisted virtual nurse rounding, telehealth, and virtual sitting. The current phase introduces specific AI models dedicated to fall prevention, which have already begun demonstrating a measurable impact on patient safety risks and the overall experience within the facility.

A significant component of the ongoing expansion involves the installation of digital door signs powered by hellocare.ai. These devices provide clinicians and staff with real-time access to critical patient data directly outside of rooms, facilitating better communication and streamlining internal workflows. The broader intelligent hospital room strategy is designed to create a more responsive environment by combining computer vision, workflow automation, and virtual monitoring. Jordan M. Tannenbaum, MD, MBA, MPH, chief information officer and chief medical information officer at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, stated, “Our goal is to leverage technology in ways that meaningfully improve both the patient and clinician experience,” and added, “Through our partnership with hellocare.ai, we have implemented intelligent room technology and AI assisted workflows that improve patient safety, enhance communication, and support our care teams with more proactive interventions.”

The platform integrates virtual care delivery with AI-assisted observation to identify potential risks early and support clinical teams. Linda Carroll, MSN, RN, RN-BC, vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, noted, “Virtual nursing and AI assisted patient observation technologies are helping us transform the inpatient experience for both patients and staff,” and remarked, “The ability to proactively identify patient risks such as falls while also supporting nurses with virtual workflows has already demonstrated significant value for our teams and the patients we serve.” Labinot Bytyqi, Founder and CEO of hellocare.ai, expressed pride in the partnership, saying, “We are proud to partner with Saint Peter’s Healthcare System as they continue expanding their intelligent hospital room strategy,” and concluded, “Saint Peter’s has embraced innovation in a thoughtful and impactful way by combining AI assisted safety technologies, virtual care delivery, and real time clinical communication tools to create a safer and more connected patient care environment.”
