THAILAND’s Largest Medical and Healthcare Exhibition Records Highest Attendance & Participation

The 6th edition of MEDICAL FAIR THAILANDdrew a successful closing on 14 September 2013 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC)with a record breaking 20% growth in visitor attendance over three successful days. 
 
A total of 6,396 visitors from 60 countries experienced the latest innovations and technologies from the medical and healthcare industry. The atmosphere was exuberant as 430 exhibitors across 25 countries, a 30% increase from 2011, echoed the underlying sentiment of the internationality of the visitor attendance amidst a busy trade floor.
Over 35% of visitors attended MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND from outside Thailand. Majority of these overseas visitors came from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.MrKritsanaWansiang, a buyer for the BNH Hospital in Bangkok commented, “This is my third consecutive visit to MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND since 2009.  This time around I am able to see more new advancements in medical devices especially in the areas of radiology.  This exhibition is a great place for exhibitors to find distributors and this will make procurement by Thai companies a lot easier.  I am pleased with my visit to this year’s edition of MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND.”
Stellar Showcase of Medical Healthcare, Equipment, Supplies & Technology
This year, twelve national pavilions and country groups from Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom took centrestage, marking the largest participation in its 10-year history. France’s first national pavilion at MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND made its debut with seven companies. Ms.ChuenratMengtrakul, Counseillère Export of Mode Habitat Santé commented that,” All exhibitors under the UbiFrance Pavilion are satisfied with the quantity and quality of visitors attending MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013. This trade fair provides an excellent platform for lucrative business transactions within the region and we are happy to have met many companies, not only from Thailand but also from other countries.”
Exhibitor sentiments on the trade floor were positive as opportunities for business soared at MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND this year. MrNiqmanRafaee M. Sahar, Trade Commissioner of the Embassy of Malaysia said, “Our pavilion consists of 16 companies and 27 representatives from the healthcare sector to promote new medical devices and for exploration of healthcare in Thailand. There is a strong growth potential for medical tourism in Thailand and we see a winning collaboration since Malaysia is one of the major exporters of medical devices to Thailand.”
Commenting on MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013’s overall success, Mr Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, said, “Significant growth and interest in medical healthcare and technology in the region is reflected through the impressive visitor turnout this year. We are happy to have successfully connected medical and health care professionals from Thailand and Southeast Asia and pleased to hear the positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors. Increased Visitor Growth -a Strong Source of Business Opportunities
MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 was a source of strong business opportunities for all participating exhibitors. According to Dr.Gustav Gressel, The Commercial Counsellor of the Austrian Embassy, “The medical industry in Thailand is moving upscale in order to meet the growing demand from abroad in its various health sectors. There is also an increase in quality with more possibilities abound for businesses to explore. We are glad that MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND has developed positively over the past 10 years, with expanded visitor-ship and exhibition space. We have met a wide range of local and regional clients here at the trade fair and are looking towards expanding our presence at the next staging of MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND.”

Successful Staging of First Advanced Rehabilitation Technology Conference (ARTeC)
Making its debut at the trade fair wasARTeC 2013, a multidisciplinary conference focused exclusively on rehabilitation technology and emerging trends in physical and rehabilitation medicine.Jointly organized together with the Royal College of Physiatrists of Thailand and Thai Rehabilitation Medicine Association, the conference bought together 120 delegates over the course of two days. ARTeC 2013covered topics which included musculoskeletal ultrasound, segmental neuromyotherapy, robotics and brain stimulation technology in neurological rehabilitation, and advanced management of stroke patients with swallowing difficulties, and clinical management of swallowing disorders.
Dr. Chuenchom Chueluecha a delegate from the Faculty of Medicine in Thammasart University said that,” Through this conference, we were able to gain new approaches and inspiration which can be applied our rehabilitation work. The conference alsoprovided a unique opportunity for ARTeC delegates to network with professionals from around the world from various specialty areas within the field of rehabilitation.”
