The Enterprise Mobility Solutions business of Motorola, Inc.announced that Lowry Computer, a leading systems integrator and Motorola channel partner, has deployed its 802.11n wireless LAN (WLAN) solution at Memorial Medical Center (MMC) of Western Michigan, a community hospital located in Ludington, Mich.

Motorola’s innovative WLAN technology will enable end-to-end voice, video and data mobility across the entire healthcare facility, helping improve patient care, boost productivity and increase staff satisfaction. Patients and guests will also benefit from the new 802.11n wireless network by gaining high-speed Internet access, so they can stay connected while visiting the hospital.

The new wireless network replaces the hospital’s legacy infrastructure providing clinicians, nurses and emergency room staff with the bandwidth and security features needed to leverage the latest mobile clinical applications and while offering a robust backbone for the development and implementation of future technologies. Featuring industry-leading Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) technology, the WLAN solution deployed at MMC protects the network against threats and unauthorized devices while providing performance monitoring and troubleshooting. The tri-radio design of the AP-7131 provides excellent value, integrating a WIPS sensor for gap-free, 24×7 security while eliminating the need for multiple hardware purchases and extra cabling.
