Xograph Healthcare has recently delivered a DRagon Direct Digital mobile X-ray unit to the medical centre at Huntercombe Young Offenders Prison, Oxfordshire, UK.  The DRagon uses a portable Canon CXDI-50C high DQE, single tile 35x43cm direct digital detector. Image review and any post-processing required can be performed on the DRagon just 3 seconds after exposure, before downloading the images wirelessly to a diagnostic workstation and then onwards via ‘N3’ to an NHS Hospital for reporting.

The imaging package from Xograph Healthcare also included room refurbishment and the supply of radiation protection, a mobile patient table, a DR detector wall stand and a diagnostic workstation with wireless connectivity with the DRagon X-ray unit.

The new imaging facilities will help to reduce the disruption and associated costs caused by unplanned hospital visits.  Huntercombe personnel can now focus on delivering high quality uninterrupted services to the teenagers in their care.

The DRagon has received great acclaim in humanitarian aid centres in Darfur, Ethiopia; in Afghanistan supporting our military personnel; in forensic medicine; in outside events such as music festivals and motorsports as well as in community-based healthcare schemes
